Same BlueOfisharu Higedan Dism

Official HIGE DANDism is a band known for its catchy sound that blends J-pop with elements of Western music.
They consistently release hit songs, and their new track “Same Blue” drew attention right after its release.
The tricky part of this song is, without a doubt, the end of the chorus.
It features very high falsetto passages that appear repeatedly, and because the pitch moves up and down so drastically in this section, it requires a great deal of pitch control.
Give it a try!
unravelTK from RIN TO SHITE SIGURE

Among TK from Ling tosite sigure’s songs, the masterpiece “unravel” is renowned for its exceptional difficulty.
Known as the theme song for the popular anime Tokyo Ghoul, many people may have discovered it through Ado’s cover as well.
The most challenging aspects of this song are, above all, its vocal range and expressive breadth.
The range spans an extraordinarily wide mid2 A# to hihi A#, with repeated hi G notes in the chorus.
On top of that, it demands a wide variety of vocal techniques, including scream-like phrases and trembling lines that make use of whisper voice.
Its level of difficulty is among the highest even within Japanese rock.
PropositionRADWIMPS

The RADWIMPS song “Meidai,” known as the theme for the popular news program news zero.
Their recent tracks tend to have dramatic pitch leaps, and this one is no exception, featuring a succession of phrases that require intense rises and falls in pitch.
The vocal range here is quite wide, from mid1 C to hi A#, and since there isn’t much leeway either lower or higher, you’ll need to break through the range barrier on your own.
The pitch movement in the chorus—where the energy peaks—is relatively gentle, so the chorus shouldn’t be an issue; however, there are very few breathing points, so make sure to study the vocal line in advance.
Chaos reaches its peakUNISON SQUARE GARDEN

UNISON SQUARE GARDEN is a band that enjoys immense popularity in the anisong scene.
If you like anime, you’ve probably heard their songs at least once.
Among their tracks, the one I especially recommend as a challenging piece is “Chaos ga Kiwamaru” (“Chaos Reaches Its Peak”).
This song covers a wide vocal range from mid1E to hiC, and, true to UNISON SQUARE GARDEN’s style, features intense pitch shifts up and down.
Except for the part at the end of the chorus, most of it is built around high tones, making it a demanding song in terms of vocal stamina.
absolute zeronatori

Natori is a singer-songwriter whose vocals blend youthful innocence with sexiness, earning her widespread popularity.
She has many classic songs, but the one I especially recommend as a high-difficulty track is Zettai Reido.
While Natori often favors a downer vocal style, this piece is crafted with a much louder sound, and the vocal lines are correspondingly raw and aggressive.
The range spans from mid1 A# to mid2 G#, which isn’t particularly wide, but with few break points and many rapid-fire phrases, it’s certainly a challenging song when it comes to nailing the pitch with precision.
KusushikiMrs. GREEN APPLE

When it comes to Mrs.
GREEN APPLE’s vocalist, Motoki Omori, he’s known for his exceptional singing ability.
Given how massively successful Mrs.
GREEN APPLE has been, it’s only natural that their songs are very popular at karaoke—but many people probably end up feeling crushed when they try singing and realize they can’t perform anything like Omori.
The song Kusushiki, released in April 2025, is no exception: it’s hard to deny that perfectly delivering a melody line that fluidly covers a wide vocal range while seamlessly connecting rhythmic sections with soaring phrases is extremely difficult.
Another hallmark of Omori’s style is the delicate vibrato he applies to both the low notes and the falsetto, and since the rhythm in this track is also quite tricky, it’s a perfect pick for today’s theme.
Call meNovelbright

Although they are a rock band, Novelbright also enjoys idol-like popularity.
Among both men and women, many people in their teens to early twenties are likely fans.
Their new song “Call me” has a very refreshing melody.
While it’s pleasant to listen to, the difficulty level is quite high: in the repeated chorus sections, there’s a falsetto close to a mixed-voice quality.
For men with a typical vocal range, the hi D# is a pitch that easily flips, making it a high-tone phrase that’s tricky to control.
If you’re confident in your high notes, definitely give it a try.
