Pink MozartMatsuda Seiko

Pink no Mozart was a lively, upbeat song, wasn’t it? It was Seiko Matsuda’s 18th single.

Because it was used as a Kanebo Cosmetics commercial song, there’s an anecdote that it was performed only once on the TV show “Yoru no Hit Studio,” which was sponsored by rival company Shiseido.

Featuring America’s top producer David Foster, “Daite…” from the 15th album Citron, released in 1988, is known among fans as a popular track despite never having been released as a single.

It has also been used in TV commercials, so many people beyond her fan base have likely heard it.

You can fully appreciate Matsuda’s commanding vocals as she evolves from idol to singer.

Be sure to pay attention to the chorus, where the emotion truly explodes!

Blue ChristmasMatsuda Seiko

Seiko Matsuda is a quintessential idol singer in the Japanese pop scene.

Among her many hits, the Christmas-themed song that stands out is Blue Christmas, included on the 1982 album Golden Ribbon.

It portrays a scene of spending Christmas Eve alone, feeling lonely, and sings of a bittersweet yearning while waiting for the person she loves to appear.

With bell chimes and clear, shimmering strings ringing through the sound, her vocals unfold with both strength and fragility.

A beautiful yet fleeting story that resonates as a moving Christmas song.

I Love You!! ~To Your Smile~Matsuda Seiko

This is the CM song for Daido Life’s “Our Wish” series.

It was released as a single ahead of Seiko Matsuda’s 35th debut anniversary, and drew attention for its music video in which she appears in a wedding dress.

She also participated in writing the lyrics and composing the music herself, making it a song filled with heartfelt emotion.

Since it was used as the ending theme for “Yume de Aetara,” where Seiko Matsuda served as the disc jockey, I believe it’s a song that holds deep meaning for her.

The lyrics by Tokuko Miura are also excellent in this piece, subtly expressing a young girl’s feelings of love by the seaside.

It’s a piece written and composed by Seiko Matsuda.

The song puts a mature vibe front and center, and it’s one of my favorites too.

It was also used as the ending theme for “Beat Takeshi’s TV Tackle” and as the image song for Canon’s “Pixel.”

It was an insert song for the TBS drama “Adult Choices,” in which Seiko Matsuda starred for the first time at age 30.

The lyrics and music were also by Seiko Matsuda.

Around this time, she truly became an adult singer who could really captivate listeners.
