Fun Mountain Activities: Recreation Games (1–10)
Trekking

When people hear “mountain walking,” they often picture aiming for the summit, but trekking is a much more relaxed way to enjoy the mountains.
Its appeal is that you don’t have to aim for the top—you can simply soak in the natural surroundings.
You can enjoy encounters with seasonal scenery, plants, and wildlife.
It’s perfect for company outings or club trips where everyone can chat and walk together.
Even if you’re not confident in your stamina, you can go at a comfortable, easy pace.
Breathing in the mountain air while enjoying conversation with friends is wonderful too.
How about discovering a new side of the mountains through trekking?
barbecue

Meat, fish, and vegetables you eat in the mountains are something special, aren’t they? Bringing your own food is great, of course, but cooking fish you’ve just caught or wild plants you’ve just foraged is also a wonderful way to connect with nature.
Just be sure to handle fire safely and clean up thoroughly so you don’t harm the environment!
wild vegetable foraging

From February to June, various kinds of wild mountain vegetables sprout.
In spring, for example, butterbur sprouts and royal fern are familiar as ingredients for tempura.
Why not try foraging for these seasonal wild plants? Be careful, as some wild plants are poisonous.
Also, some mountains prohibit foraging, so be sure to check in advance.

Feel like Tarzan?! What’s a “zip line” that rivals even scream-inducing thrill rides?

A zip line is an activity where you string ropes between trees or across valleys, hook a wire onto them, and slide down using the difference in height.
You could probably set one up by stringing a rope between some nearby trees, but when it’s a large-scale setup like in the video, the fun—and the fear—are on a whole different level.
Burn, burn! This is what camping is all about, right? ♡

When it comes to camping and mountain activities, a campfire is a must.
Fire safety is essential, of course, but the intensity of seeing large flames up close and the realistic texture of the fire are experiences you can’t get from other activities.
In the video, we introduce how to stack firewood for a campfire.
If you’re new to the outdoors, why not give it a try?
tree climbing

Try playing with trees as if they were natural jungle gyms.
There are many ways to enjoy them, from the simple fun of finding a suitable tree and climbing it to taking on a Tarzan-style challenge using a rope.
That said, safety comes first.
Go in a group, learn to identify safe trees, and be extra cautious.
Even just clinging to a tree can make you feel the power of nature.
fishing

How about fishing in a mountain stream? The act of fishing itself is fun, and eating the fish you catch right there is something special.
There’s a lot of depth in gearing up, and plenty of elements to get absorbed in.
Once you’re hooked, it’s sure to become a lifelong hobby.
