SAPPORO PARCO ROOFTOP LIVEHokkaido, Sat 5/2 – Wed 5/6

A city-style festival jointly produced by TOWER RECORDS, Shimamura Music, and PLANT, held right in the heart of Sapporo’s Odori. Set on the special rooftop stage of Sapporo PARCO, your wristband lets you move freely throughout the venue. One of its appeals is that you can enjoy live performances in an open-air setting with a drink in hand, while taking breaks for shopping or dining at the in-house restaurants. In 2026, it will be held over five days during the Golden Week holiday in May.

VTUBER EXPOMay 3 (Sun) – 4 (Mon), Tokyo Metropolis

VTUBER EXPO 2026 is an interactive exposition dedicated to VTubers, billed as the world’s first of its kind. On the first floor of Bellesalle Akihabara, visitors can “become” a VTuber through motion capture, talk with VTubers at special booths, enjoy a dedicated stage featuring mini live performances and talk shows by popular VTubers, and explore exhibits from related companies—among many other attractions. Coming to Akihabara during Golden Week in May 2026, with free admission.

La Folle Journée TOKYO is a classical music festival that originated in 1995 in the port city of Nantes in western France and has been held at Tokyo International Forum since 2005. Its appeal lies in the ability to casually hop between roughly 45-minute concerts from morning to night and enjoy top-tier performances from Japan and abroad at low prices. In 2026, under the theme “LES FLEUVES — Great Rivers,” it will take place from May 3 to 5 at Tokyo International Forum in Marunouchi.

Senju FreshSun, May 3, Tokyo Metropolis

Senju Fresh is an urban festival where diverse cultures born from the streets of Senju—DJing, skateboarding, BMX, rap, art, taiko drumming, food, fashion, and more—intersect. Drawing on the city’s history as a crossroads of people and culture along the Nikkō Kaidō and Ōshū Kaidō post towns, it upholds the FRESH concept of “keeping the city and its people perpetually fresh.” It will be held in May 2026 at Niji no Hiroba on the Arakawa riverbed.

Kichijoji Music FestivalMay 3 (Sun) – 5 (Tue), Tokyo

The Kichijoji Music Festival, which began in 1986, is a long-running city festival that will mark its 41st edition in 2026. The venues span all of Kichijoji in Musashino, Tokyo, with eight stages set up around town—including the plaza at the station’s North Exit and the area around Inokashira Park—filling the city with music against the backdrop of a unique culture where bustling commercial districts and residential neighborhoods blend seamlessly. Under the banner of a “festival of culture and creativity,” a diverse range of music—jazz, folk, rock, and more—colors the entire city over three days during the Golden Week holidays.
