Clockwork JimmyHanada Yuuichirou, Nagata Maya

It’s a heartwarming, fun song about a little wind-up character who gently winds up stopped robots, clocks, and toys, bringing them back to life and getting them moving again.
“Nejimaki Jimmy” appeared on Okaasan to Issho in November 2023.
The lyrics were written by Akio Miyazawa, and the music was composed by Toriro Miki.
Both are known for their extensive work on music for Japanese children’s programs.
Wrapped in jazzy sounds that open up an antique world, the song warms your heart and makes you think, “All right, I’ll try again!” thanks to little Jimmy’s gentle power—a truly cozy, uplifting tune.
Magic DoorYokoyama Daisuke / Mitani Takumi

Is it perhaps inspired by the land of dreams? The song cheerfully sings about scenes like amusement parks and theme parks—what could be called a paradise for children.
The lyrics were written by Amemori Nemuri and Yuu Sawamura, and the music was composed by Yasuhiro Takano; the song was created in 2010.
Bean Squad Bibin-BiinHanada Yuuichirou, Ono Atsuko

The October 2017 song “Omame Sentai Bibinbiin.” Since they’re beans, it’s “bean,” of course.
From the title alone it sounds fun, and when you listen, it definitely lives up to expectations—a delightful song.
The singing big brother and big sister, along with the exercise big brother and big sister, become a superhero squad—the Bean Sentai—and sing and dance joyfully.
It’s a track that both adults and children can enjoy together.
Donsukapanpan Cheer SquadYokoyama Daisuke / Mitani Takumi

This song was created as the January 2009 song and is one of the most popular numbers on “Okaasan to Issho.” The lyrics are uplifting and cheerful, so if your child says, “I’ll sing it to cheer you up, Mom/Dad—please listen!” you might be so happy you end up in tears.
There’s choreography that matches the song, like clapping your hands and making big arm movements.
The motions are repeated and not difficult, so it sounds fun to learn them together with your child and sing while dancing.
hungry mantisHanada Yuuichirou, Ono Atsuko

It’s the June 2019 song “Hungry Praying Mantis.” The mantis, who loves anything that moves, goes out to hunt when it gets hungry and tries to catch prey as soon as it spots it—but upon seeing hardworking ants and bees, or a cicada that has slept underground for years, it gives up, deciding it can’t eat them.
That endearing hesitation is utterly charming.
The song is packed with onomatopoeia that kids love, making it an addictive tune.

What color do you like?Sakata Osamu, Kanzaki Yūko

Countless people must have sung this song when they were little.
Every time you use crayons, colored pencils, or paints, it pops into your head, doesn’t it? You start with your favorite colors, so those are the ones that run out first… It’s a children’s song that makes drawing even more fun.
In fact, this song was written by Osamu Sakata, who served as the seventh “Uta no Onii-san” starting in 1985.
It’s a fitting story for Mr.
Sakata, who originally made his mark as a band musician and singer.
Perfect for your drawing time with the kids!
Boomba-boon!Takayuki Yoshizawa, Satoko Yamano

This is the song used in the exercise segment where you can dance along to “Okaasan to Issho,” performed from March 2014 to March 2019.
It kicks off with an upbeat, energizing sound.
Once you learn the choreography—featuring vigorous jumps, big arm swings, and animal-like motions that match the lyrics—it looks like quite a workout even for adults.
Some moves may be challenging for toddlers, but if everyone—siblings and parents together—shouts the calls loudly and moves freely, it should help you wake up bright and energetic in the morning!
