Fun Outdoor Recreation Games to Liven Things Up (11–20)

Making a drum-can bath

Recreation you can only experience at camp will stay in everyone’s memories.

Since many people have never tried a drum-can bath, it will become a once-in-a-lifetime memory from camp.

It’s a recreation activity where you can have the rare experience of everyone cheerfully getting into the drum-can bath together at night.

Campfire Werewolf Showdown

In the “Werewolf Game,” players split into a Villager team and a Werewolf team and attack each other during alternating day and night turns.

It’s a slightly challenging psychological battle advanced through discussion and deduction.

Let’s enjoy this Werewolf Game alongside a campfire.

Playing at night by the light of the campfire is sure to heighten the atmosphere and make your hearts race with excitement.

Some campsites are fully equipped with water and electricity, but the essence of camping is enjoying the survival mindset without relying on modern conveniences.

You could even try making your own knife for cooking—it would be a valuable experience.

The material is an empty aluminum can.

Instead of taking it home as trash, turn it into a memorable keepsake from your camping trip.

River Sliding Courage Test

Was Fischer’s first canyoning trip a tough challenge and a serious test of courage?!
River Sliding Courage Test

Canyoning is an adventure that fuses mountain fun with river play.

You make your way down a mountain stream as you go.

Remember how, as a kid, you’d let yourself be carried over little ledges and gentle currents? This is a more extreme version of that.

I’m a bit of a scaredy-cat, so it sounds a little frightening to me, but there are courses where beginners are guided and taught by experienced instructors.

How about trying it as a test of courage?

Drip catcher

Is it possible for someone on the opposite shore to catch a stone that's been skipped across the water?
Drip catcher

It’s the stone skipping that everyone played as a child.

The riverbed around the campsite has lots of round stones, so you might be able to make a stone skip more times than usual.

Competing on the number of skips is fun, but how about a game where you try to catch the stone after it skips? Recommended for those confident in their dynamic vision!

Fire-starting showdown

Fire-starting showdown

Have any of you ever started a fire without using a lighter or matches? I haven’t (lol).

You see it on TV and such, right? Scenes where people rub wood or stones together to make a fire.

Let’s try that—and even turn it into a contest to see who can get a fire going faster.

It might be fun to split into teams: one using wood, the other using stones.

Ping-pong relay

The rules are simple! All you need are some ping-pong balls and a ladle or spoon—anything shaped like a scoop will do.

Place a ping-pong ball on the ladle and race along a designated course in a relay format.

You could also have fun using golf balls or marbles instead of ping-pong balls.

Tug-of-war showdown

Tug-of-war showdown

When we think of tug-of-war, we picture big groups at a sports day, but if you think about it, as long as you have a rope, you can do it anywhere—even with just two people, right? So let’s have a tug-of-war match! You could spice it up with variant rules, like digging small pits around the area so that falling into one means you lose.

It would probably get pretty exciting.

Turning it into a tournament and seeing who advances would be fun too!

dizzy bat

Unexpected mishaps keep happening with the dizzy bat!?

Have you ever done the “spinning bat” game? You place the tip of a bat on the ground, press your forehead to the other end, and spin around it a set number of times.

Then you try to do things like walk straight.

In this version, after spinning, you run a set distance and compete on your time.

It’s even more exciting on uneven ground, since it’s that much harder to go straight!

Rafting experience

Rafting experience

When it comes to river-descending activities, there’s not only canoeing but also something called rafting.

In this activity, participants board a relatively large rubber boat and work together to make it down the river to the goal.

Because teamwork and perfect coordination among participants are essential, it’s sure to strengthen bonds!
