Paper Cup Crafts That Elementary School Kids Will Love! Fun Project Ideas (21–30)
Chomping Toothbrushing Made with a Paper Cup
Make toothbrushing feel more familiar with pretend play! Here’s a fun idea for a chompy toothbrushing craft made from a paper cup.
You’ll need a paper cup, colored construction paper, a sponge, a popsicle stick, white round stickers, and glue or double-sided tape.
Since the main material is a paper cup, it’s easy to prepare—how nice! Adjust the steps to suit the children’s ages, and consider making a paper-cup toothbrushing puppet as a crafting activity.
Make it and have fun playing with it!
paper cup hat
https://www.tiktok.com/@lunimama_asobi/video/7383701099234004240If you’re looking for a craft idea that can double as a decoration, how about making a paper cup hat? Cut off the rim of a paper cup, then leave about one-third from the bottom intact and make many vertical slits starting from the rim side.
Spread the slit sections outward, then weave them by folding them up diagonally from the rim side to form the brim of the hat.
Decorate it with your favorite ribbon and you’re done.
The color and pattern of the paper cup will become the hat’s design as-is, so choosing the cups is part of the fun, too.
roly-poly toy

With a roly-poly toy, you can finish the look to match the season or your preferences.
Let’s start by explaining how to make it.
The steps are simple, and the only materials you need are a paper cup, a gacha capsule, and a marble.
First, remove one half of the capsule and tape the marble inside it with cellophane tape.
Next, turn the paper cup upside down and attach the capsule to the rim—then it’s done.
From there, you can turn it into any motif you like by decorating the cup.
Try coming up with seasonal characters or figures.
Rocket

This is a rocket you can easily make with paper cups! First, place the bottoms of two paper cups together and tape them in place.
Next, slightly bend the middle of a paperclip.
Even elementary school kids can bend it easily! Attach the clip where the cup bottoms meet, aligning it with the curve of the cups.
Finally, attach three rubber bands, and you’re done! Hook the rubber bands onto the bent part of the clip, twist them around about three times, hook them on your index finger, and release your finger…
and it takes off!
Paper Cup Windmill

Here’s a paper cup windmill you can make using a common paper cup.
Prepare a paper cup, a chopstick, a felt-tip pen, and a thumbtack, and let’s get started.
Use the felt-tip pen to mark the rim of the cup into eight equal sections.
From each mark, cut a slit downward to create eight cuts.
Fold each cut section outward at an angle to form the rotating blades.
Folding them diagonally improves airflow and makes it easier to spin—this is the key point.
Poke a hole in the center of the cup, then use the thumbtack to fix it to the chopstick, and you’re done! Wrapping the blade sections with vinyl tape as decoration will make it look more vibrant.
paper-cup wind chime

Let’s make wind chimes using paper cups.
Because the materials are familiar, children will be interested and eager to participate.
Patterned paper cups are, of course, cute, but it’s also great to have the kids draw on white construction paper and then stick it onto the cups! Once the body is ready, make a hole in the paper cup and thread twine through to attach a bell and a strip of paper.
Since this involves fine work, the teacher should handle it.
If you choose construction paper for the strip as well, the children can create their own original designs.
Displaying the wind chimes in the classroom will bring a cool, refreshing atmosphere.
Kids and adults alike will get hooked! Paper cup claw machine

A crane game you can make with paper cups that fascinates both kids and adults.
Punch small holes in the bottoms of two paper cups, fold them into eight equal sections, and alternate the folds back and forth.
Leave four of the sections as slits to create movable parts.
Next, insert a straw with cuts in it to act as the arms and provide movement.
Connect that straw section to the other paper cup, and you’ve completed a mechanism that can be operated like a crane.
By adjusting how you move it, you can enjoy grabbing prizes.
It’s relatively easy even for beginners at crafting, and the materials are simple to prepare.
It’s a fun idea that you can get excited about making together with kids—and have a great time playing with afterward.
