Lovely healing music

A soothing song. A heart-calming tune you’ll want to listen to when you’re tired or feeling down.

No matter how hard you try every day or how positive you are, there are times when an accident or setback brings you down.

At times like that, why not let the power of music ease your mind, even just a little?

Rather than songs that hit you with a jolt of courage, I’ve picked ones that gently stay by your side and seep into your heart.

When you’re tired, take your time, listen closely, and let yourself calm down.

May your heart feel even a little lighter, and may you return to your bright, energetic self.

Healing songs: soothing tracks to listen to when you're tired or feeling down (1–10)

tear(s)Ketsumeishi

Ketsumeishi has songs whose straightforward Japanese lyrics really hit home.

This track, “Namida” (Tears), is one of those songs that digs deep into your heart, and I especially want people who are feeling down to listen to it.

When you’re depressed and hurt, sometimes you want someone to hear you out—but there are also plenty of times when you don’t want to see or talk to anyone.

This is a song that can be your greatest understanding companion in those moments—a kind of charm for your heart.

It’s included on Ketsumeishi’s 2004 album “Ketsuno-Police 4.”

Ulfuls’ “Waraereba” is gentle yet weighty, resonating deeply in the heart.

If you listen to it when you’re feeling down, it might just bring you to tears.

Sometimes you sink into a slump without a clear reason.

This is a song I really want you to hear at times like that.

Have a good cry, feel refreshed, and you’ll be ready to try again tomorrow.

This is the single released by Noriyuki Makihara in 1991, which became the theme song for the film “No Problems on the Employment Front” and his biggest hit.

It was later chosen as the entrance march for the National High School Baseball Invitational Tournament and used in commercials, so it’s likely a song everyone has heard.

Its hopeful, positive lyrics encourage and give courage to listeners no matter when they hear it, reminding us that living true to ourselves really is important.

Here is a song by Ikimonogakari released in 2013.

Since it was the theme song for “Pokémon the Movie: Black—Victini and Reshiram and White—Victini and Zekrom,” in which vocalist Kiyoe Yoshioka also participated as a voice actress, many children may be familiar with this track.

As you’d expect from a Pokémon song, the lyrics are uplifting, offering courage and comfort, and just following along with the words can make you forget your worries.

Promise of SunflowersHata Motohiro

This song, which became the theme for the animated film STAND BY ME Doraemon, has come to be widely known and hummed by both adults and children.

Its charm lies in the guitar’s tone, the unadorned, straightforward vocals, and the gentle yet powerful lyrics that feel like they’ll always be on your side.

When you’re feeling down, it really helps to have someone by your side, doesn’t it? The sunflower mentioned in the title is said to be an image of Doraemon.

Since then, the commercial song has also been used as a theme in a drama.

Here’s a song that Macaroni Empitsu made for young people who haven’t quite grown up yet.

Macaroni Empitsu is a rock band formed in 2012 at Senzoku Gakuen College of Music.

Since all the members come from music school, they have a wide variety of cleverly crafted songs that never get boring, but this one has a more straightforward feel among their works.

The lyrics capture the idea of moving forward positively even while harboring negative feelings, and it’s the kind of song that makes you feel like you’ll gradually regain your energy as you listen.
