[Healing] A song that eases worries and anxiety and puts your mind at ease. A comforting song.
Work, school, relationships, romance—you name it.
In modern society and in our daily lives, worries and anxieties are always close by, aren’t they?
In this article, I’ll introduce songs that can ease your anxiety and make you feel at ease when you listen.
I’ve selected a wide range—from gentle tracks that calm your heart just by listening, to songs whose lyrics will encourage you.
Just as there’s something called music therapy, music is said to have the effect of soothing anxious hearts and lifting your spirits.
I’d be happy if listening to the songs I’m about to introduce helps refresh your heart, even a little.
[Healing] Songs that ease worries and anxieties and lighten the heart. Comforting songs (1–10)
Shineyuzu

When it comes to Yuzu’s songs, they’re all full of encouragement, wonderfully positive, and powerful in their lyrics.
Their 2014 release “Hikare” is another moving pop song that’s so characteristic of them.
It’s perfect for those who want to be cheered on with direct, strong words!! Listen closely to each line and feel reassured—this is Yuzu.
You can almost picture the two of them, an acoustic duo, strumming their guitars and singing.
Tomorrow never knowsMr.Children

It was released in 1994 as Mr.Children’s sixth single.
The song was used as the theme for the Fuji TV drama “Wakamono no Subete” and as an insert song for “Antique: Western Confectionery.” It achieved million-seller status for the third consecutive time and remains Mr.Children’s biggest hit single to date.
The song conveys that precisely because no one knows what tomorrow holds, taking action is more important than giving in to anxiety.
scale (as of a fish or reptile)Hata Motohiro

Hata Motohiro’s moving cheer song “Uroko.” As always, the gentle melodies—one of his greatest charms—and the conversational lyrics make it a wonderful track.
I think it’s a song that gently gives a nudge to everyone feeling uncertain.
The open, emotional chorus connects with some feeling deep in your heart and is truly moving.
It’s the kind of chorus melody that makes you want to sing along and hum.
If you sing it out loud, you might find yourself feeling a bit brighter and more positive.
One moreFUNKY MONKEY BABYS

“Ato Hitotsu,” a song well-known from baseball, is the kind of track that gives you that extra push when you’re stuck with worries and doubts.
It teaches you that there’s meaning in trying precisely because it isn’t easy.
Especially when you’re on the verge of losing your passion, listening to it will remind you of the important things you were starting to forget.
365 Days’ Paper AirplaneAKB48

Among AKB48’s songs, “365 Nichi no Kamihikōki” (“365 Days of Paper Airplanes”) is especially moving.
It was also used as a morning drama theme song, and I think it’s perfect as an anthem that cheers on the everyday—the ordinary, nothing-special kind of day.
Its gentle melody and warm lyrics make courage well up in you little by little as you listen.
True to the theme of “365 days,” it’s a reassuring song that gives a small boost of courage to daily life.
Baby Don’t CryAmuro Namie

After all, whether you’re of that generation or not, I want you to listen to Namie Amuro’s songs! She may be strongly associated with era-defining fashion and a charismatic image that always put her at the forefront of J-pop.
However, the song “Baby Don’t Cry” is especially noteworthy for its lyrics.
The dance beat is very easy to groove to, and as the title suggests, it’s an encouraging track.
Its appeal lies in how it’s both danceable and rich in message.
cellNEW!satou

This work by singer-songwriter Sato draws on the curious fact that the human body completely renews itself every few years.
Its message—like reexamining oneself in a changing city—is delicately woven together with the sound of an acoustic guitar.
Released in July 2024, it marked the finale of a seven-month run of consecutive releases.
It’s also included on the album “Like a Newborn’s Cry.” Sato is a rising figure known for the hit song “3%” and the anime theme “Rourou.” When you’re unsettled by changes in your environment or unsure of who you are, listening might just lighten your heart.
How about lending an ear alone on a quiet night?
