Polkadot Stingray’s greatest and most popular songs (21–30)
Jet lagPorukadotto Sutingurei

Jet Lag combines lyrics themed around meetings and partings with an up-tempo melody.
The unique sense of weightlessness that washes over you when the chorus hits has a gentle quality, as if soothing the wounds left on your heart each time you say goodbye to someone or something.
With its overall refreshing vibe, it’s the kind of song that can calm you when you’re overthinking or feeling stressed and irritable.
BLUEPorukadotto Sutingurei

This is a track included on their first album, Omniscience and Omnipotence.
It features a wistful, UK rock-inspired melody and guitar phrases, making for a refreshing tune that captures the “blue” of its title.
While acknowledging an uncooperative reality, it also conveys a determination to break free from it.
hide and seekPorukadotto Sutingurei

Polkadot Stingray is a four-piece band from Fukuoka that rose to popularity primarily in the Japanese rock scene.
In 2017, they made their major-label debut with Universal Sigma.
The vocalist Shizuku not only showcases strong singing ability but also demonstrates multifaceted talent, including directing their music videos.
While the band often draws attention for their looks, they’re also known for their high level of musicianship, delivering live performances that match the quality of their recordings.
HalcionPorukadotto Sutingurei
This is a track included on the “Boneless EP.” The title “Halcion” is the name of a well-known sleep aid, and both the lyrics and melody are psychedelic and irregular, as if in a dream.
It’s a piece that shows touches of Shiina Ringo’s influence, which she has cited, throughout.
MidoriPorukadotto Sutingurei

This is the track “Midori,” included on the album Taiseigi released in 2017.
While Shizuku’s raw, emotionally charged vocals deserve attention, the gritty bass sound is also a highlight.
The vocals, guitar, bass, and drums are each tight on their own, yet they come together into a single cohesive groove—that’s outstanding, too.
The orange of dawnPorukadotto Sutingurei

Orange at Dawn opens with a distinctive guitar sound drenched in flanger.
What makes Polkadot Stingray so cool is how every single sound always comes with a twist or two.
Layered on top are Shizuku’s unique lyrical world and flexible vocals, creating an unmistakably singular atmosphere.
Orange at Dawn is also captivating for its unconventional melodies and sound—definitely give it a listen!
early this morningPorukadotto Sutingurei

This is a piece included on Taiseigi.
It vividly portrays the pain of a girl who’s right in the middle of a love coming to an end—wanting it to be over quickly, yet finding that very wish painful.
The razor-sharp guitar sound that matches the “knife” motif in the lyrics, along with a cool restraint that never tips into excessive emotion, seems to embody Polkadot Stingray.
