Taiyo Sentai Sun Vulcan

Taiyo Sentai Sun Vulcan, the fifth entry in the Super Sentai series, aired from February 1981 to January 1982.

This installment notably reduced the team to just three members, and the absence of a female member was another major feature.

It was a series full of talking points, including the Red member, Vul Eagle, being replaced partway through, and the villain Queen Hedrian continuing on from the previous series.

Dai Sentai Goggle Five

Dai Sentai Goggle-V, the sixth entry in the Super Sentai series, aired from February to March 1982.

After the number of heroes was reduced to three in the previous series, Taiyo Sentai Sun Vulcan, it returned to five once again in this installment.

This was also the first series to introduce a Black hero.

Thanks in part to Junichi Haruta’s excellent performance as Black, the character became very popular among children.
