Theme songs and insert songs of the Pretty Cure series

Introducing the theme songs from the Precure series, the beloved heroines of 21st-century girls.

Back in the 1990s, Sailor Moon was the icon for girls, but since the Precure series began airing in 2004, it has taken the era by storm and is gaining popularity at a pace that could surpass Sailor Moon.

When the show first started, there were only two Precures, but more than ten years later, the number has grown to over 40.

Who is your favorite Precure?

Now, enjoy this energetic Precure playlist!

Precure series theme and insert songs (21–30)

Alright! HeartCatch Pretty Cure!Ikeda Aya

This is the opening theme of “HeartCatch PreCure!”.

It has an upbeat yet calm tone, and during the instrumental break, each PreCure’s name is called out.

The song is also well-known for being performed during the 2011 NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen in the anime songs segment, where Nana Mizuki, who plays Cure Blossom, sang it together with AKB48.

Pretty Cure 5, Full Throttle GO GO!Kudō Mayu with Purikyua 5

This is the opening theme of Yes! PreCure 5 GoGo!.

At over four minutes long, it’s the longest opening song in the Precure series.

The guitar and saxophone melodies are also striking, making it a very upbeat track.

It’s said that the final episode of this series was based on the lyrics of this song.

Main and insert songs of the Pretty Cure series (31–40)

Gambalance de Dance ~Relay of Hope~Gojō Mayumi / Furappi & Choppīzu

Yes! Pretty Cure 5 Go Go! This ending theme is really memorable.

It’s quite a hidden gem with a great rhythm, and it’s a fun song that really gets the energy up at karaoke.

With its lively melody, it’s become one of my favorite tracks.

Tomorrow Song ~Ashita no Uta~Kudō Mayu

HeartCatch PreCure! New Ending Theme: Tomorrow Song ~Ashita no Uta~
Tomorrow Song ~Ashita no Uta~Kudō Mayu

This is the ending theme from the latter half of HeartCatch Precure!.

A key feature is its overall gospel style, with rich choral harmonies, organ accompaniment, and handclaps.

Since there aren’t many gospel-style anime songs, it makes for a very compelling listen.

Rainbow-colored EverydayKise Yayoi & Midorikawa Nao & Aoki Reika

It was one of my favorite songs from Smile Precure.

It’s a slightly cute pop tune that feels nostalgic, and the melody is so wistful and lovely.

It’s the kind of song you want to keep listening to.

The characters are adorable and remind me of those nostalgic times.

Dreaming☆Princess Precurekitagawa rie

Go! Princess Precure ED 'Dreaming☆Princess Precure'
Dreaming☆Princess Precurekitagawa rie

It’s the first ending theme of Go! Princess Precure.

Waltz-like tempos are introduced throughout the song, giving it the feel of a “princess” ball.

The track is just under three minutes long, making it the second shortest song in the Precure series.

Full-bloom Smile!Yoshida Hitomi

Full Bloom * Smile! Full - Hitomi Yoshida
Full-bloom Smile!Yoshida Hitomi

This is the late-period ending theme for Smile Precure! Like the first ending, Yay! Yay! Yay!, it uses a system where the animation changes depending on the episode’s main character.

However, this one also depicts each character’s everyday life and other scenes, making it even more enjoyable.

In addition, the lyrics include the names of each Precure—Happy, Sunny, Peace, March, and Beauty—at various points.
