Theme songs and insert songs of the Pretty Cure series
Introducing the theme songs from the Precure series, the beloved heroines of 21st-century girls.
Back in the 1990s, Sailor Moon was the icon for girls, but since the Precure series began airing in 2004, it has taken the era by storm and is gaining popularity at a pace that could surpass Sailor Moon.
When the show first started, there were only two Precures, but more than ten years later, the number has grown to over 40.

Opening and Insert Songs of the Pretty Cure Series (1–10)
HEART GOES ONAya Ikeda & Mayu Kudo

This is an insert song from HeartCatch PreCure!.
In episode 36 of the anime, Aya Ikeda and Mayu Kudō appear as the light music club’s vocalists, and it’s used during the protagonists’ fashion show at the school festival—the staging made it feel just like a live concert, which was really wonderful.
It’s also used during the final battle, and together with the rock guitar melody, it really amps up the fight.
Let's go! Smile Precure!Aya Ikeda

This is the opening theme of “Smile Precure!”.
Since it aired after the Great East Japan Earthquake, it features very positive lyrics and a cheerful tone.
Also, because the song calls out each Precure member’s name at the beginning, it makes their names easy to remember.
With all my heartMakoto Kenzaki (CV: Kanako Miyamoto)

This is an insert song from DokiDoki! Precure.
In the series, Makoto Kenzaki (Cure Sword) works as an idol.
She wrote this song to reach out to Regina, who is honest at heart but commits misdeeds for her father’s sake.
It’s a calm, ballad-style track, and when listened to alongside the anime, it becomes a deeply moving experience.
Dokkyn☆Maho Girls Precure!Rie Kitagawa

This is the opening theme of “Maho Girls Precure!” Because the beat is quite fast, the lyrics sound quick.
At around three minutes, it’s also one of the shortest opening songs in the Precure series, and it brilliantly reflects the mysterious world of “magic users.”
Cure Up↑ Ra♡ Pa☆ Pa! ~The Magic That Brings Smiles~Cure Miracle (Rie Takahashi) · Cure Magical (Yui Horie)

This is the ending theme of “Maho Girls Precure!” which has been airing since 2016.
In earlier Precure series there were cases where the Precure contributed as backing chorus, but this is the first song where the two Precure sing the main melody.
It’s performed with an upbeat rhythm that makes it feel considerably faster than the actual beat.
Two WishesRie Takahashi, Ayaka Saito

This is truly a hidden gem.
It’s an insert song from the Maho Girls Precure movie, and I really love it—it’s a bittersweet song I want to keep listening to.
It’s a gentle, lovely song filled with emotion.
It makes me picture all kinds of scenes.
I hope that even as generations change, everyone will continue to love Precure.
A dream is a path to the futureRie Kitagawa

This is the second ending theme for Go! Princess Precure.
The song has four versions: Cure Flora Ver., Cure Mermaid Ver., Cure Twinkle Ver., and Cure Scarlet Ver.
The ending lyrics changed to match the main character of the episode that aired.
The ending visuals also changed during the theatrical release period and when the characters powered up in the latter half of the series.
