BUCK-TICK The Movie: The Buck-Tick PhenomenonBUCK-TICK51rank/position

This film, “BUCK-TICK The Movie: The Buck-Tick Phenomenon,” is a two-part documentary that closely followed BUCK-TICK throughout 2012 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of their major-label debut.
Since their formation, BUCK-TICK has never undergone a lineup change and has remained an active rock band at the forefront of the scene.
Featuring rarely seen recording sessions, the electrifying energy of their live shows, and other richly detailed footage, this work has become a valuable document.
Both Part 1 and Part 2 are available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.
You can also enjoy the overwhelming performances of the extraordinary frontman Atsushi Sakurai—who suddenly departed in October 2023—as well as many rare moments of him offstage.
Even those who have only recently become fans of the band should definitely check it out.

This work is BUCK-TICK’s 13th single, released in March 1998, known as a cut from the album Sexy Stream Liner.
The lyrics, written by Atsushi Sakurai, depict a one-sided, sensual relationship in which the narrator venerates the other like a dream and likens himself to a slave surrendering to desire.
Sakurai’s mysterious vocals intertwine with the industrial sound, further accentuating the song’s alluring, shadowy charm.
Give it a listen on a night when you want to immerse yourself deeply in the decadent world that distills BUCK-TICK’s experimental spirit.

This is a work that feels as if you’re gently cradled by the vast cosmos, with a dreamy, floating sensation that is deeply soothing.
Atsushi Sakurai weaves words full of compassion that embrace loneliness, softly colored by Hisashi Imai’s spacey effects and shimmering guitar sounds.
Released to the world in May 2012 as the B-side to the single “Für Elise,” it was later reworked as the title track for the album “Yume Miru Uchuu,” commemorating the 25th anniversary of their debut in September of the same year.
The fact that it was the first release from their own label can also be seen as symbolic of their journey.

A song that unfolds a worldview where a deranged angel sings atop rubble and a cold, unending rain falls—a tapestry of profound love and despair.
This is BUCK-TICK’s 20th single, released in January 2003.
It was used as the ending theme for TV Asahi’s “Beat Takeshi’s TV Tackle” and is also included on the album “Mona Lisa OVERDRIVE.” Its unique allure arises from meticulous guitar riffs and rhythms intertwined with perverse lyrics.
Possessing a timeless quality that transcends eras, the track has continued to be heard across generations.
After appearing at major festivals and performing alongside Marilyn Manson, BUCK-TICK gained a new following.
Recommended not only for rock fans but also for anyone drawn to darker aesthetics.
