A track that feels somehow decadent, yet grabs the heart with a piercing pop sensibility.

Released by BUCK-TICK in July 1999 as their 15th single, it’s a gem whose incredibly catchy melody shines, just as composer Hisashi Imai described it as “super pop.” At the same time, Atsushi Sakurai’s lyrics, set against the end-of-the-world mood of the era, paint a fierce yet beautiful vision: even in the despair of the world’s end, the desire to melt into the one you love.

Listen to it on a night when you feel crushed by inescapable anxiety, and you might sense a strength and solace like a single flower blooming amid ruin.

Following the album ABRACADABRA, the 41st single, released in September 2021, is a thrilling rock tune that stirs the listener’s heart.

Over sounds reminiscent of a train’s roar and sway, Atsushi Sakurai weaves a powerful story of chasing the continuation of a dream and charging boldly into the future with love as the fuel.

It feels as though it embodies the band’s own journey.

This release also includes Uta and a re-recorded version of JUST ONE MORE KISS, once known as a commercial jingle, forming a bridge that links the past and the present.

Included on the 2007 album “Tenshi no Revolver.” A five-piece band from Gunma Prefecture formed in 1985.

Despite the hard guitar and powerful drums, it’s a song whose pop and catchy melody lingers in your heart, and when the deep, resonant vocals come in, it becomes something that could only be BUCK-TICK—nothing else—and that’s remarkable.

In the early 2000s, the music industry was undergoing a major turning point.

Amid this, BUCK-TICK released a work distinguished by a fantastical atmosphere infused with elements of gothic rock.

Included on the album “Juusankai wa Gekkou,” released in April 2005, it is known as part of the band’s 14th studio album.

Centered on the themes of “night” and “moonlight,” this piece stands out for its dark and majestic musicality.

The lyrics, depicting the transience and changing of the seasons, are sure to resonate deeply with listeners.

It was performed at a concert at NHK Hall and has been highly praised among fans.

It’s a track best savored on a long autumn night.

While it’s the 12th single and pop and easy to listen to, the intense, edgy band sound creates a unique atmosphere.

There’s an anecdote that during their period of pursuing a darker direction, they aimed to craft a “so pop it feels out of place” song.

You’ll likely struggle with the sound design when trying to cover it…
