Rebecca’s famous and popular songs
Let me introduce songs by REBECCA, a four-member rock band with a female vocalist that debuted in 1984.
When you think of REBECCA, their song “Friends” is overwhelmingly famous.
Although they went on hiatus several times in the past, they reunited in 2015 and performed on NHK’s year-end Kōhaku Uta Gassen.
It’s said that bands with a female vocalist and all-male instrumentalists were rare at the time, but after REBECCA, this lineup became popular.
Now, please enjoy the music of REBECCA, a band that took their era by storm.

Rebecca’s greatest and most popular songs (11–20)
Maybe TomorrowREBECCA

This song, Maybe Tomorrow, closes REBECCA’s fourth album, REBECCA IV ~Maybe Tomorrow~, released in 1985.
Since it came out after the band’s leader, Mr.
Kogure, had left, you can sense the inner turmoil of that time from the lyrics.
Phantom FlightREBECCA

This “Mugen Hikou” was the B-side to REBECCA’s debut single “Wearham Boat Club,” released in 1984.
It’s from their early period when they still had a rock vibe, featuring crisp, satisfying guitar cutting and a cool overall finish.
VirginityREBECCA

Their second single, released in 1984.
It’s also the opening track of their second album, “Nothing To Lose.” Characterized by a wistful melody line, the sound makes extensive use of synthesizers to create a clear, airy atmosphere.
Love PassionREBECCA

A track included on Rebecca’s third album, Wild & Honey, released in 1985, and a fan favorite at live shows.
It’s a feel-good song with a danceable rhythm, lively percussion, and synthesizer sounds used to great effect.
Midsummer RainREBECCA

This “Midsummer Rain” is the B-side to “Nervous but Glamorous,” released on November 18, 1987.
It’s a slow ballad, but it sounds like NOKKO is crying out, and it really strikes a chord deep in the heart.
LOVE IS CASHREBECCA

Released on April 21, 1985, Love Is Cash is REBECCA’s third single.
After leader Mr.
Kogure and drummer Mr.
Onuma left, the band made a drastic shift from a rock style to pop, and this became REBECCA’s first hit.

MOTOR DRIVEREBECCA

This “MOTOR DRIVE” is the B-side track to REBECCA’s fifth single, “RASPBERRY DREAM,” released on May 2, 1986.
There’s a part in the middle where NOKKO speaks in English, and it’s super cool! She says things like “Leave me alone!” and it just creates such a striking image, doesn’t it?
