Magic that makes a bunch of knots appear in an instant

Here’s a magic trick where a single rope suddenly ends up with a bunch of knots.
In advance, you prepare several knots on their own.
The key is to tie them loosely.
Since you’ll be attaching the prepared knots to the rope and sliding them to either end, make sure they’re loose.
With these movable knots on the rope, you can instantly create or vanish a lot of knots.
It also makes clever use of optical illusions.
There is some prep work before the performance, but thanks to that effort, you’ll be able to present a trick that will amaze your audience.
Rope Puzzle

Let me introduce a rope puzzle magic trick where the rope seems to come apart in an instant.
Prepare a slightly thick rope, hold both ends with your hands, drape the rope over your left arm from the front toward the back, and while keeping hold of the end in your left hand, pass only the middle section through with your right hand.
As you lower the loops around both arms, switch your grip on the rope; if you switch grips and let it drop at the same time, the rope will tie itself and the trick is a success.
It gets even more exciting if you have the audience check beforehand that there are no gimmicks in the rope before you start.
Rope Escape

A terrifying magic trick where a rope wrapped around a spectator instantly passes through their body and comes out! You take a long rope about 3 meters in length and wrap it around a spectator several times.
Then you have two other spectators hold each end of the rope and pull hard.
In an instant, the rope penetrates the body, and the spectator is freed from the rope! It looks like a very difficult trick, but apparently even beginners can do it easily.
The props are sold on online magic shops, so if you want to involve your audience and perform a fun trick, be sure to check them out!
The knot changes color

A deceptively simple trick! Let me introduce a magic effect where only the color of the knot changes.
In this trick, when you tie a rope, just the knot appears to change color.
First, prepare a single rope and a loop made from a rope of a different color.
Thread the loop onto the rope and conceal it in your hand.
Next, pretend to tie the rope, then reveal the looped section.
This makes it look as if the knot’s color has changed.
The key is how naturally you can reveal the loop.

I’ll introduce a magic trick using a straw and a string, where a rope placed inside a straw doesn’t get cut even when you slice it with a cutter.
Beforehand, make a vertical slit in the middle of the straw so it can be opened.
When placing the rope inside the straw, insert the string in a way that prevents the straw from spreading open.
After setting the string and pulling it, the string will shift; the key is to offset it so that it won’t get cut when you make the slice.
Bend the straw in half and use a cutter to cut the middle section.
When you bend it, use your hand to conceal the prepped section (the secret slit) so it doesn’t spread open while cutting.
The uncut string will emerge from inside—trick successful!
A ring appears when tied.

♪ Magic – Ponzu
One classic rope trick in magic is where a ring appears when you tie a knot.
For example, you tie a single rope into an overhand knot and pull, and it separates into a ring-shaped cord and a short piece of rope.
Since all you need is a rope, give it a try if you’re interested.
By the way, there’s a variation where you tie the rope and the knot disappears.
Learning several of these and performing them in quick succession can be quite entertaining.

The cut rope was restored when the balloon burst.
This is a magic trick where ropes that were supposedly cut to the same length instantly return to their original length the moment a balloon pops.
The routine goes like this: you cut the rope in half and tie it, then attach the knot to the neck of an inflated balloon.
Next, when you pop the balloon with a safety pin or something similar, amazingly, the rope returns to its original length with no knot at all.
To pull off this trick, there are a few key details.
First, when you ‘cut’ the rope, secretly trim only a little off one end so it’s not obvious.
When you ‘tie’ the cut rope, don’t actually tie it tightly—just overlap the ends to make it look as if you’ve tied a knot.
If you handle these moves skillfully so the secret isn’t noticed, you’ll be able to perform this mysterious trick with ease!
