The rope passes through the body!

This is a rope magic trick that uses a setup where two ropes are tied together with basting thread.
Even if you tie the torso with the rope, when you give it a strong pull, the basting thread snaps, making it look as if the rope has passed right through the body—a surprising illusion.
It seems like a great way to get a crowd excited.
Lariat rope

You have someone choose a card from a deck, mix it back into the pile, and place the deck in a box.
When you lower a rope into the box and give a magic word, the previously chosen card comes out tied to the rope.
It’s astonishing because the rope is firmly knotted even though you never touched the box.
The tied rope comes undone easily.

It looks like a firm square knot, but it comes undone in a flash.
This is more about tying technique than a magic trick.
It’s the way you tie a furoshiki and is called a “true knot” (ma-musubi).
With this method, even though it appears to be a sturdy knot, it can be untied easily.
If you don’t know it, it’s a puzzling sight.
Massive knot outbreak!

You gather the rope into your hand, and once it’s all tucked in, you hold the end and pull it back out.
Then, like magic, a knot appears that wasn’t there before.
There’s no suspicious movement to be seen, so it’s quite hard to figure out.
This magic trick prop is sold at 100-yen shops.
Changes of the three ropes

A rope magic routine where three ropes go through all sorts of transformations.
The three ropes, which seemed to be different lengths, suddenly become the same length in an instant; when each rope is tied into a loop and tossed into the air, they somehow all link together.
If you untie one knot in the linked ropes to make a single rope, the other knots vanish one after another, turning it into a completely single rope…
This trick displays a variety of changes using just three ropes.
There’s apparently a modernized version available on video, so if you’re thinking, “I want to try it!” be sure to check it out!
Mysterious Knot

When I give the knotted rope a sharp tug, the knot pops off and falls away.
But then, in the blink of an eye, the knot comes back.
It forms so quickly that even right in front of me, I can’t tell what’s happening.
a string that pierces through a finger

This is a simple rope magic trick that even beginners can do, where it looks like a single rope passes through your finger and comes out.
It’s not very flashy, so it might seem a bit subdued in front of a large audience.
Try practicing until it looks natural.
