RYU STYLEDA PUMP

Super cool Japanese (Okinawan) rap/hip-hop video — DA PUMP “Ryu STYLE”
RYU STYLEDA PUMP

A track released in 2004 by DA PUMP, who made a comeback in 2018 with “U.S.A.” It’s a number that layers razor-sharp rap over a track featuring Okinawan traditional instruments.

DA PUMP, who have even performed at Shurijo Castle, include ISSA and other original members from Okinawa.

Let this Okinawa-born dance beat get your body moving in all the right ways.

Rookie feat. Hatsune MikuDECO*27

DECO*27 is one of Japan’s leading Vocaloid producers.

He’s known for a wide musical range, from pop-oriented Vocaloid tracks to rock-centered sounds.

If you’re a teenage girl who likes Vocaloid, you’ve probably heard at least one of his songs.

Among his works, the one I especially recommend is “Rookie feat.

Hatsune Miku.” Although the song features many key changes, the post-modulation melodies are very easy to sing, so they don’t pose a major challenge.

The rhythm is easy to catch, and for a Vocaloid track the vocal range is relatively narrow, so definitely give it a try.

ROOM VACATION feat. Tsubaki & Emi OkamotoDJ HASEBE

A three-way collaboration by DJ HASEBE, Tsubaki, and Emi Okamoto.

Just like the title “ROOM VACATION,” it sings about a summer day spent at home.

Over a smooth, slightly funky track that evokes a hip-hop-style summer tune, Tsubaki delivers a languid rap, while Emi Okamoto’s cool vocals float on top.

This fresh trio’s new-era summer tune will add a sweet-and-sour, refreshing touch to your everyday life.

RunawayDel Shannon

This song is a single released by Del Shannon in February 1961, and it became a hit, topping the U.S.

charts for four consecutive weeks.

There are plenty of highlights, such as modulating from a minor key to a major key in the chorus and showcasing falsetto.

Among oldies, it’s on the more difficult side, but it’s such a lovely song that it’s worth the challenge.

The Japanese version was also a hit.

Lupin the Third ~ Theme of LoveEGO-WRAPPIN'

This is an insert song from the TV anime Lupin the Third.

Yoshie Nakano’s delicate vocals are wonderful.

The effortless way she sings makes it all the more moving.

Alongside the Lupin theme, this number showcases composer Yuji Ohno’s talent brilliantly.
