Russia is a country that enjoys overwhelming support in classical and metal music.
In Japan, there isn’t much of a culture of listening to foreign music other than English and Korean, so many people may not be familiar with it, but the Russian music scene actually boasts world-class quality.
This time, I’ve picked out some artists and bands that are active in Russia.
I’ve selected songs from a wide range of genres, so please try finding a favorite artist.

He is the founder of a label called Vangaband, which commands enormous support in the Russian hip-hop community, and he has released numerous hit songs to date.
While trap music is currently booming in the hip-hop scene, in his case, although he incorporates trap, he distinguishes himself by crafting a unique sound through his distinctive flow.

Dima Bilan is an artist from the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic of the Russian Federation who holds two honorary titles: People’s Artist and Merited Artist.
A highly accomplished performer who has competed in Eurovision twice, his songs are extremely catchy and widely popular among the public.
One of his signature tracks is “Молния” (Molniya, meaning “Lightning”).
It’s dance music that blends deep house and EDM, resulting in a stylish vibe throughout.

Among its genres, symphonic metal and folk metal are especially popular.
Within Russia’s folk metal scene, the band Arkona commands overwhelming popularity.
They are known for lyrics centered on Russian folklore and Slavic paganism, as well as a musical style that features traditional Russian instruments, earning them high acclaim worldwide.
