Recommended Russian artists: Popular international singers and singer-songwriters
Russia is a country that enjoys overwhelming support in classical and metal music.
In Japan, there isn’t much of a culture of listening to foreign music other than English and Korean, so many people may not be familiar with it, but the Russian music scene actually boasts world-class quality.
This time, I’ve picked out some artists and bands that are active in Russia.
I’ve selected songs from a wide range of genres, so please try finding a favorite artist.
Also, the war between Russia and Ukraine is ongoing.

DEMOLISHERSlaughter To Prevail

Slaughter to Prevail is a Russian deathcore band.
They’re popular not only across Europe but also in parts of Asia such as China and Japan.
Though the members are multinational, they’re primarily based in Russia, where rock music is thriving and they enjoy overwhelming popularity.
While many modern rock bands are known for blending various genres, their sound remains uncompromisingly straight deathcore with no wavering.
If you’ve been craving authentic deathcore, be sure to check them out.
U CAN TAKE feat. LITTLE BIGTATARKA

Tataruka is a female artist who has gained popularity in the genre of cloud rap, which mixes Southern rap and trap music.
While she belongs to the hip-hop genre, she has a strong singer-oriented style, making her approachable even for those who aren’t into hard-hitting hip-hop.
If you imagine a style similar to American pop star Kesha, it’s easier to understand her vibe.
Be sure to check her out.
