The Heisei boom is wildly popular in the Reiwa era! One part of it is the exploding trend of sticker trading.

A variety of stickers are selling well—like the popular “Bonbon Drop Stickers,” water stickers, and butt stickers—and some are even so scarce they’re hard to get.

But even if you’ve collected a bunch, some of you might not have many chances to trade them, right? That’s why we recommend a Sticker Trading Café for your school festival! As the name suggests, it’s a café dedicated to sticker trading.

Bring your sticker albums and have a great time together!

Charisma de Stage LIVENEW!

How about staging “Charisma de Stage LIVE,” a theatrical adaptation of the superhuman share-house story Charisma, at your school festival? The work features a cast of distinctive characters who not only act but also perform songs.

There’s also a live event called “Gather! Charisma Culture Festival!”—an interactive show popular for involving the audience.

The exercise segment with the performers is full of laughter and humor.

You don’t have to copy it exactly—why not express Charisma in your own unique way?

Purikura photo booths were a huge hit in the Heisei era, and with the current Reiwa-era Heisei revival, they might become a hot topic again.

That said, it’s hard to recreate a full purikura machine.

So why not build just the outer booth and offer a “Puri-Box” as an attraction? If you decorate the inside to look great on camera and set up lights and a camera, you can take fun, memorable photos with friends without worrying about onlookers.

For the decorations, it’d be nice to go a bit retro to evoke the Heisei vibe!

Board game cafeNEW!

Back in the days before smartphones, handheld game consoles, and digital toys became widespread, the go-to pastime for groups of friends was board games.

During New Year’s, the whole family would get excited over The Game of Life, right? How about planning a café centered around such board games? Classics like Othello and shogi, as well as more unusual picks like backgammon and chess, are all appealing.

A funny, original sugoroku you make yourselves could get plenty of laughs, too.

If you also set up a booth to showcase the latest board games, it would add a festive vibe.

Handmade ShopNEW!

Many of you probably enjoyed playing “store” when you were kids.

It feels great when something you made makes others happy, and it boosts your self-esteem, too.

So how about opening an original shop at your school festival to sell handmade items? You can find all kinds of materials at 100-yen shops, and simple beaded accessories that just need to be strung on nylon thread don’t take much work.

The time you spend creating while thinking about the design will surely become an irreplaceable memory.

calligraphy workNEW!

If you’re thinking of an exhibition-style attraction, how about covering an entire wall with calligraphy pieces? Rather than the usual staples like “Hope” or “Dream,” it might be better to choose words and phrases that are currently popular among students.

Words people usually toss around jokingly, rendered earnestly in brush calligraphy… just imagining it is fun, right? Even visitors who peek in and think, “Oh, calligraphy pieces…” will likely find the works so amusing that before they know it, they’ll step into the classroom.

It could also be nice to set up a space where people can actually try calligraphy themselves!

Stop-motion exhibitionNEW!

When it comes to Tim Burton’s breakout work, it has to be The Nightmare Before Christmas.

I feel like that was around the time we started hearing the term “dark fantasy,” too.

Shaun the Sheep, which you see a lot these days, is made with clay.

What these two have in common is, yes, stop-motion animation.

If your class has the time and patience, this project is highly recommended! You can create film that looks like animation just by stringing together a sequence of individually shot images.

There are even apps dedicated to this nowadays.

You can also do stop-motion with actual classmates, so you might end up with unexpectedly funny videos.

Because the visuals can be monotonous, the script becomes important—so be sure to come up with an impactful opening scene.
