Christmas cake hat

Many elementary schools and children’s groups hold Christmas parties, don’t they? A craft I’d like to introduce to brighten up the celebration is a Christmas cake hat.
This is made by sticking cut-out parts onto a long sheet of construction paper, as if making a collage.
Then you roll it into a cylinder and wear it on your head—instantly turning it into a hat.
Let children arrange the cake design however they like.
If you thread an elastic band through the back, it will be easier to wear.
Since threading the elastic can be tricky, please have an adult do that part.
Plastic bottle Christmas tree

Let’s use plastic bottles you have at home to make an original Christmas tree! First, crumple some origami paper and put it inside the plastic bottle, then wrap vinyl tape around the cap.
Next, take small strips of origami paper and join the ends to make the tree parts.
The tip here is to form them into ring shapes.
After sticking them onto the sides of the bottle, decorate with your favorite ornaments.
Finally, add a star made from origami on top, and you’re done! It’s an easy, Christmas-themed craft idea that kids can try, too.
3D Christmas tree made of origami

Have you ever felt that even after putting up Christmas decorations, the tabletop still looks a bit plain? In times like that, it’s handy to know how to make a 3D Christmas tree out of origami.
Once you master the folding method, it becomes easy to make! It’s perfect for trying together with children, too.
You can also have fun decorating it—like cutting origami paper into star shapes and sticking them on.
Give it a try and create a Christmas tree with a touch of originality.
Climbing Santa

A craft that depicts Santa coming to your home on Christmas Eve and delivering presents.
You can enjoy watching Santa move, making it a perfect idea for children eagerly awaiting Christmas.
First, glue a straw to the inside of a paper cup with the bottom cut out, and thread a string through it.
Attach a Santa illustration to the outside of the cup, and the item is complete! Hang the string, and when you pull it by hand, Santa climbs upward.
It’s also recommended to draw a chimney illustration against a night-sky background to deepen the overall atmosphere.
Christmas lantern

Here’s an idea for a Christmas lantern made by cutting a transparent sheet into a cone shape and decorating it with neo-cellophane! You can stick the neo-cellophane on randomly as you like, or first draw Christmas-themed designs and then use the cellophane like torn-paper collage.
The transparent sheet will be rolled into a cone, but since decorating becomes difficult after rolling, decide where the edges will be joined and apply the neo-cellophane beforehand.
Once it’s finished, place a soft light inside, darken the room, and enjoy.
