Evolution Rock-Paper-Scissors

Simple yet exciting! Here’s an idea for “Evolution Rock-Paper-Scissors.” If just deciding winners and losers with rock-paper-scissors feels boring, this is a great idea for elementary school students.
You start as a cockroach and, as you play, evolve into a frog, a rabbit, a monkey, and then a human.
The key points are to only play rock-paper-scissors against others in the same evolutionary stage, and to act out the poses and movements of each creature.
Once everyone gets the hang of it, it could be fun to come up with new creatures to evolve into together with the kids.
Clap-Clap Game

Let me introduce the Clap-Clap Game that always gets the class excited.
The rules are simple: the leader moves both hands, and the participants watch the leader’s movements and clap their hands exactly when the leader’s hands overlap.
It’s a game where you enjoy clapping in sync with the timing.
Carefully observe the leader’s movements and match your timing.
It’s also important for the leader to be creative with their motions to make the game more exciting.
Even if someone claps at the wrong time, it turns into laughter and makes the game even more fun.
Find the Snacks! Treasure Hunt Game

Work together with your friends to crack the codes! Hunt for snacks! Here are some treasure-hunt game ideas.
They’re perfect for building teamwork and reasoning skills! It’s thrilling to pool your wits to solve the ciphers and finally discover the treats.
Even in heart-pounding moments, you’ll learn to calmly interpret clues, and by collaborating toward a shared goal, you’ll naturally develop coordination and communication skills in group activities.
With clever cipher design, the fun of puzzle-solving doubles!

Work together with your friends! Here’s an idea for a hoop relay.
All you need is a hula hoop.
In groups of three or four, hold hands and, without letting go, pass the hula hoop along by stepping your bodies through it until it reaches the last person.
Once you get the hang of it, try increasing the number of participants or competing in teams for extra fun! Also, the smaller the hula hoop, the more challenging it becomes—sure to liven things up.
Give it a try!
Let’s look at the map illustration and search for the treasure!

No text! The illustration of a map on the cards is your clue! Here’s an idea where you work together to find treasure.
Using the illustrations and the map on the cards, team up with your friends to track down the treasure! Use the map as a hint to locate the next clue card.
If you study the map carefully, you should be able to decode where the next clue card is hidden.
It’s a game that seems perfect for building kids’ observation skills while keeping them excited.
It would be great for family play, and it also sounds fun to try with friends.
Air-reading game

Let’s read the room so we don’t overlap with our friends! Here’s an idea for a “reading the room” game.
It’s a unique game that helps elementary school students develop the ability to act while watching the timing and what’s happening around them.
In a group of 4–5 players sitting in a circle, you take turns standing up while calling out numbers.
The rule is simple, but what matters is avoiding overlapping timing with your friends.
Through the game, kids can build awareness of others and quick decision-making skills.
The atmosphere is tense at the start, but when two people stand up at the same time, everyone can’t help bursting into laughter!
Quiz

When it comes to games that have long been popular and get kids excited, quizzes are a great choice.
You can come up with questions from various genres and present them by difficulty level or category.
If you don’t have much prep time, you can use quiz books or websites for reference.
Buying or making buzzers will make it even more fun!
Ball Toss Game

A safe and easy indoor “Ball Tag Game”! Split into two teams of three and start the game.
The rule: make three passes within your team before aiming at the opposing team.
If the other team dodges or catches the ball, they’re safe; if even one player gets hit, that team immediately loses.
Using a soft ball like a beach ball prevents injuries and protects your indoor space.
If you have more room, feel free to increase the number of players or the number of passes!
A command game popular with both children and adults

It’s a fast-paced game that tests your listening skills and split-second decision-making.
The rules are very clear: if someone says, “Order: do XX,” you perform the action; but if they say only “Do XX” without the word “Order,” you must not move.
If you react by mistake, you’re out, so observation and concentration are essential.
The teacher’s feints will spark laughter across the classroom, creating a fun atmosphere.
Despite the simple rules, there’s a lot of strategy in the rhythm and timing, and it stays exciting no matter how many times you play.
Move or stay still—the instant you decide determines the winner.
Sinking Game

A ship might sink! Ship-Sinking Game is a fun game where you can feel that thrilling excitement.
Place several mats randomly around a large space like a hall or gym.
These mats are the ships, so divide the children into groups and have them stand on the mats.
The teacher plays the role of a scary shark living in the sea.
When the shark-teacher shouts, “It’s sinking!” the children must get off their current mat-ship and move to a different mat-ship.
If they get tagged by the shark-teacher while moving, they’re out! If they manage to reach another mat-ship without being caught, they’re safe.
Try mixing in other words that start with “chi” instead of “chimbotsu” (sinking) to make it even more fun!
