Airboard

Airboard: “The posture of hurtling down snowy slopes at high speed is incredible” — mont-bell (Airboard)
Airboard

An airboard that rockets down the snow at incredible speed.

How about some thrilling, dynamic snow play in the mountains? Lying face down and diving headfirst as you glide down the slope creates tremendous speed and excitement.

The rush of carving so fast it kicks up plumes of snow is sure to be addictive.

Because the airboard is a highly cushioned, air-filled body, it absorbs impacts and is surprisingly comfortable to ride.

As an exciting winter sport activity, why not give airboarding a try this winter?

Snow Strider

STRIDER | Let's play in the snow with a Snow Strider!
Snow Strider

There’s a ride-on toy called a “Strider,” which is like a bicycle without pedals for small children.

This is the ski version of that! In other words, kids can zip around on the snow as if they were riding a bike.

They push off the ground with their feet to move, so they won’t pick up too much speed unless they’re on a steep slope, and braking is easy since they can just plant their feet.

That means even kids who are new to the slopes can enjoy it relatively safely.

Just make sure they’re properly equipped with a helmet and other gear!

Snow slingshot

Snowball fights have evolved this far—don’t fall behind!
Snow slingshot

A classic winter snow play activity is the snowball fight.

You make snowballs by packing snow with your hands, then throw them at your opponents to try to hit them.

These days, there are fun and handy gadgets for it—tools that make snowballs easily, devices that let you throw them farther, and even items that let you hit targets using a slingshot-like mechanism, like the one introduced here.

Since it can be a bit risky, it’s reassuring to have protection like helmets or face guards, goggles, and gloves.

Use these evolved snowball-fight gadgets to make your snow play even more enjoyable.

snow fling

When it comes to classic winter snow play, snowball fights are the first thing that comes to mind.

Whether it’s one-on-one or a team match, a snowball fight is fun whenever the snow piles up.

You roll snow into a ball with your hands and throw it at your opponent—but wouldn’t it be handy to have a tool to make those snowballs? With a tool called a snow fling, you can make snowballs in no time.

To keep throwing snowballs at your opponent, you have to keep making them—so speed is key.

Just stick the snow fling into the accumulated snow and pull it out, and a snowball forms automatically.

You can use it not only for snowball fights, but also to make lots of small snowmen.

Try finding different ways to play with a snow fling!

sleigh

Adults and kids alike are thrilled! Iwahara’s “Sledding Land”
sleigh

It’s about riding a sled and gliding smoothly over accumulated snow.

A key point is that it’s easy to play with even for ages that find skiing or snowboarding difficult, making it something of an introduction to winter sports.

The standard—and safest—way is to sit on your backside and hold the rope in front as you slide.

When going down a slope, the longer the distance, the faster you’ll go, so if you want to try different riding positions, it’s best to start on shorter runs.

If controlling the sled on a slope is difficult, someone can hold the rope and pull you, so you can enjoy it even on flat ground.
