Recommended for men in their 30s: Karaoke songs that were a hit back in the day

For men in their 30s, you’re likely starting to take on more responsibility at work, and even if you don’t actually like singing that much, you may be finding more occasions where you have to go to karaoke for work-related socializing.

In this feature, we’ve put together a selection of easy-to-sing songs recommended for men in their 30s who aren’t usually that keen on singing.

It should also be helpful for those who think, “I actually like singing, but I’m not good at it…,” and end up hesitating to sing at karaoke and the like.

Some of the individual song articles include brief tips and advice on how to sing them well, so please make good use of this piece.

[Recommended for men in their 30s] Karaoke songs that were a hit back then (71–80)

I’ll walk home.Saitō Kazuyoshi

This was Kazuyoshi Saito’s fourth single, released on June 1, 1994.

Starting in April 1994, it was used as the opening theme for Fuji TV’s children’s program “Ponkickies,” which later led to a major hit.

With its slightly bouncy rhythm, it’s a classic that makes you feel happy just by listening.

The vocal melody is very friendly and easy to remember, so I think it’s an ideal karaoke choice even for those who aren’t confident singers.

However, since the A verse includes singing with falsetto, if you’re not confident about smoothly switching your vocal registers, it might be better to lower the key.

Also, when you sing it, please be careful not to let the rhythm become too flat.

This is a Denki Groove track featuring a serious, almost single-pitch vocal over techno music, making it easy to sing even for those who struggle with pitch.

As it is also the theme song for GeGeGe no Kitaro, it works great as an upbeat karaoke song.

Baby Babyichou BOYZ

Ging Nang BOYZ is a rock band led by Kazunobu Mineta, a figure often called a charismatic presence in Japan’s rock scene.

Did you know that “BABY BABY,” included on the album “Kimi to Boku no Daisanji Sekai Taisen-teki Renai Kakumei,” is a song that has been performed since their predecessor band, GOING STEADY? Its lyrics weave poetic lines into a straightforward message, creating impact alongside catchy phrases.

With its hooky melody, it’s fun to sing and a rock tune that really fires up the room at karaoke.

ArmstrongSuchmos

This is a famous song by Suchmos that achieved great success with its high-performance, sophisticated melodic lines.

Yonce’s vocals aren’t as difficult as you might imagine, and since they’re a trendy artist for people in their 30s as well, it’s a song that’s easy to sing, easy to get the crowd going, and perfect for winning points at karaoke.

The truthKamenashi Kazuya

The truthKamenashi Kazuya

It’s a song released in August 2025, and amazingly, it’s their first solo track in about two years! Listening to it, the range centers on low-mid to high-mid, so it might feel a bit high for those not used to higher notes.

That said, the melody is simple with no particularly tricky parts, and the chorus repeats the same phrase, making it very easy to remember.

For singing style: keep the verse (A section) conversational without belting; in the pre-chorus (B section), there’s a spot that rises to D4—accenting that part will feel great.

In the chorus, there’s a small leap from C4 to A4—don’t hesitate to accent that! For the average male singer, the range should be relatively comfortable, and with its rock flavor, it’s bound to feel really good to sing.

If you like passionate themes, definitely give it a try!

Bees and ButterfliesSOUL SCREAM

This is a smash hit by Soul Scream, a straight-shooting artist immensely popular among people in their 30s, and one of the most well-known names in Japanese rap.

The melody hardly changes, making it easy to sing, and the rapid-fire sections are perfect for showing off your skills at karaoke—highly recommended as a karaoke song.

Eine KleineYonezu Kenshi

This is a track included on Kenshi Yonezu’s first major-label album, “YANKEE,” which was released on April 23, 2014.

Yonezu is an exceptionally skilled vocalist, but this mid-tempo pop song features a vocal melody that’s very easy to hum and remember.

I highly recommend it even for people who aren’t confident singers.

If you sing it without forcing anything—simply and sincerely—I’m sure it’ll feel just right!
