Hit and popular songs by WANDS

We’d like to introduce songs by WANDS, the rock band that achieved million-seller hits with multiple tracks such as “Toki no Tobira” and “Sekai ga Owaru made wa…”.

WANDS is known for songs that epitomize the ’90s and was one of the flagship artists of their then-label, Being.

They shifted to the alternative sound that was mainstream overseas at the time with their 10th single “SAME SIDE,” but it wasn’t well received domestically back then, and sales did not grow.

However, in recent years “SAME SIDE” has been reevaluated, and vocalist Uesugi, who composed it, has reflected that “it has become the origin of my current music.”

It still sounds incredibly cool today, and the husky vocals are wonderful.

Please enjoy WANDS’s many classic tracks in this playlist.

In the original 20 years ago, Rina Aiuchi’s huge hit “Koi wa Thrill, Shock, Suspense” featured a cool parapara performance, and this time as well, it’s a dance where you can see Conan Edogawa’s cool side.

For this work, a song by WANDS—released as their first new track in 20 years—was chosen.

You can see Conan dancing in the opening video.

There are also plenty of fan-made dance videos online, so use them along with Conan’s own dance as references and definitely give it a try!

The soaring high-tone vocals seep into your heart.

This is a song by WANDS, a rock band formed in 1991.

It’s included on their sixth single, “Koi Seyo Otome,” released in 1993.

The song is a heartbreak piece that sings of feelings for a precious person who is no longer here.

Secret Night ~ It’s My Treat ~WANDS

The music video for this song is really cool.

Watching it makes me realize WANDS isn’t just another Japanese pop band going through the motions.

They’re truly skilled artists.

I really want people to listen to this as a hidden gem.

Under a Starless Sky ~ Good SensationWANDS

This song reminds me of the album Toki no Tobira.

I think it’s a really cool masterpiece.

Back then, I listened to that album over and over, until I practically wore it out—so much that my ears could have grown calluses.

Whether I was driving or on the train, I kept playing it.

Brings back memories.
