knitted wool gloves

In the cold winter, you want warm woolen gloves, don’t you? So let’s make warm woolen gloves as a wall decoration! It’s lovely to knit gloves out of yarn and display them, but for an easy project, combining yarn with construction paper is recommended.
Cut your favorite color of construction paper into the shape of gloves, then pair it with yarn you like—and you’re done! You can add small slits to the paper to catch the yarn and wrap the yarn around the paper, or you can cut several short pieces of yarn and glue them on.
Once your gloves are finished, connect the pair together with yarn and hang them on the wall.
You can also make a tree trunk or a hanger rack out of construction paper and hang the gloves from it.
A garland made with translucent origami

How about making a colorful garland that brightens up the gloom of a string of wintry, overcast days? Prepare translucent origami paper with a gradient of various colors.
Cut the paper lengthwise into eight equal strips, and interlace four of them in a cross.
Glue the ends together to create four voluminous petals.
Combine pieces made in the same way to form a single flower, and you’ll have one floral ornament complete! Group about three of these flowers together, thread a string through them, and your garland is ready.
Snowman snow globe

Let’s make a snow globe that’s perfect for a winter-themed craft.
A snow globe is an ornament consisting of a transparent dome- or sphere-shaped container that holds small models such as figurines or buildings, along with tiny white particles or liquid.
While making a real snow globe can be labor-intensive, a paper version is easy to create.
Cut construction paper into a snow globe shape, then make and glue on items that evoke winter, such as a snowman.
Adding craft cotton can make it look like snow and give it a lovely finish.
As you work, some older adults may recall times when they saw snow or played in it.

New Year wall decoration with accordion folding
Let’s use accordion-folded origami to create a pop and festive New Year wall decoration! For example, you can take an accordion-folded piece, fold it in half, glue the ends together to make two semicircles, then glue those together to form a round accordion decoration.
You could also combine it with smaller origami pieces to make a flower-like shape.
Another idea is to cut the accordion-folded paper into flag shapes and combine it with origami letters to spell out a message like “HAPPY NEW YEAR.” Mix and match the pieces to create a lively, cheerful wall display!
plum blossoms

This is a wall decoration themed around plum blossoms that are in full bloom during winter.
Using colored construction paper and origami, you can enjoy a vibrant design that will brighten the atmosphere of a care facility.
Fold rectangular origami paper, secure it with a stapler, and then connect the pieces with glue.
Next, attach the center piece to the petals to complete the plum blossom.
It also looks lovely made with origami that features traditional Japanese patterns.
Thread the finished petals onto a string for an even more festive look.
Enjoy this item that brings the rich colors of flowers indoors.
Setsubun! Oni head

Speaking of February, it’s Setsubun.
How about making a slightly different wall decoration this year? This wall display is a unique idea that focuses not on the ogre’s face, but on the ogre’s head.
Stack seven sheets of tissue paper, accordion-fold them, staple the center, then round off both ends with scissors.
Gently open it without applying force.
Once you have a round head shape, attach horns made from yellow origami.
Make the ogre’s pants and the holly-and-sardine charm with origami as well.
If seniors make the ogre heads in their favorite colors, the space will be filled with a bright, colorful atmosphere.

@buchiko_hoiku 🐶 @buchiko_hoiku ◂◂◂◂ Check out my other posts, too 🌼 Thank you so much for all the likes 🩷 This time! A Setsubun craft for toddlers 👹 Isn’t this tiger-pattern wreath so cute? 🫶🏻 I keep making wreath crafts 😂 I guess I really like making wreaths 🤭 lol The wreath doesn’t have to be yellow—make it unique with your favorite colors like pink or blue 🙆🏻♀️ Cutting out the oni and the god of fortune uses scissors, so it’s great practice for continuous cutting ✌🏻 At the end, think about the “oni” inside yourself that you want to chase away and write it on a strip of paper. It helps kids understand the meaning of Setsubun and join in without being scared of the oni ✊🏻 And!! This craft is also available as a kit for purchase 🌟 Craft kits saved me when I was actively teaching, so now I want to help teachers who are struggling! Using a paper plate, you can easily create a wreath-like craft.
This piece uses Setsubun, a major event in February, as its theme.
Cut a circular hole from the center of the paper plate to make a donut shape, then paint it yellow.
Tear black construction paper into long, thin strips and paste them onto the plate.
This completes the base with a distinctive yellow-and-black pattern that looks like an oni’s pants.
Next, make items like an oni (ogre), Okame, a masu (wooden box), and beans using construction paper or origami, and stick them onto the plate.
You’ll end up with a craft perfect for Setsubun.
Since it uses a lot of fine finger movements, it also seems helpful for stimulating the brain.
