Hit and popular songs by 10-FEET (Ten Feet)

We’d like to introduce some popular songs by 10-FEET, a three-piece rock band from Kyoto Prefecture.

Their appeal lies in the human weakness, strength, and kindness expressed in their lyrics.

On top of that, they’re straightforwardly cool—they embody a wide range of charms.

Brimming with such charm, they are now based in their hometown of Kyoto, but there was a time in the past when they moved their base to Tokyo.

It’s said that the discussion where they decided to head to Tokyo took place in the meeting space at the back right of Studio Rag’s Kitashirakawa location.

Be sure to check out the fiery playlist from 10-FEET, a band with close ties to Studio Rag!

Days of mutual longing10-FEET

Did you know that this song was actually the B-side of the single “hammer ska,” released in September 2010, which reached No.

9 on the Oricon weekly chart? It was later included on the classic album “thread” as well—an emotionally rich rock number.

Though burdened by the loneliness of being apart and the frustration of missed connections, deep down the two still long for each other.

The earnest feelings of these lovers come through straight to the heart, carried by TAKUMA’s emotional vocals and a wistful melody.

When you feel a distance growing between you and someone important, listening to this track will help you rediscover the preciousness of the feelings you have for them.

You might even find yourself wanting to reach out.

Stoke a fire in your loneliness10-FEET

Have you ever felt a sudden loneliness when you lose your way in life or try to remember the pure feelings you once had? This song is a rock number by 10-FEET that gently lights a flame in such a helpless heart.

TAKUMA paints the back of someone who, despite carrying dreams and regrets, still tries to face forward.

Seeing that figure overlap with yourself makes your chest tighten, doesn’t it? The track was included on the single “Sono Mukou e,” released in November 2011, which reached No.

8 on the Oricon weekly chart.

It was also featured on the following year’s album “thread.” When you find yourself at a standstill, the exhilarating drive of the sound and the warm tone of the harmonica will surely set your heart free.

You don’t have to force yourself—why not start by surrendering to this song?

deep-sea fish10-FEET

The movie THE FIRST SLAM DUNK, released in December 2022, became a major sensation.

During its production, another masterpiece was born.

This song, written and composed by TAKUMA, was created by empathizing with the perspective of a certain mother who appears in the story.

You can keenly feel the anguish and love of someone who can’t be honest with herself, seeing the image of her deceased son in the son who is still alive.

The track is included on the album Collins and was written impulsively in parallel with the production of the candidate theme song.

Listening to it after watching the film may add even greater depth to the characters’ stories.

It’s a song I hope you’ll play on a quiet night when you want to reflect on someone dear to you.

The trio of TAKUMA, NAOKI, and KOUICHI crafts an inventive blend of mixed-genre rock that captivates listeners in Korea as well.

In particular, their song “The First Take”—the theme for the 2022 film THE FIRST SLAM DUNK—became a major hit in Korea.

At their solo show in Korea in 2023, they thrilled 3,000 fans with energy beyond expectations.

Experience 10-FEET’s boundary-defying music, born from their relentless curiosity.

Chinese Hero10-FEET

If you’re looking for a hero song that sings of a blazing, fiery spirit, “Chinese Hero” is highly recommended.

It’s included on Life is sweet, the album released in 2009 by 10-FEET, a rock band that has led Japan’s punk scene since the 2000s.

The track features the straightforward guitar sound characteristic of a three-piece band, with a lively, melodic hardcore beat.

Pay attention to the warm lyrics that teach you to stand up again and again! Why not add this punkish track to your playlist and awaken the hero within?

AND HUG10-FEET

AND HUG is a song from 10-FEET’s early days that only occasionally—really just occasionally—makes it onto their live setlists.

It’s included on 10-FEET’s first album, springman.

The style is a bit—no, quite—different from their current sound, but it remains a very popular number.

Long-distance love songs are often sad and melancholic, but this track is upbeat, positive, and packed with happiness.

When you can meet, give it everything you’ve got, and think of it as doubling or tripling your happiness! Let’s do our best with that mindset.

rain10-FEET

A refreshing rock number that brings back memories of someone you once dated.

Ame (Rain) is a track by 10-FEET, a Kyoto-born band that also organizes the major rock festival Kyoto Daisakusen.

It was included on their 2007 single goes on and the album VANDALIZE.

Despite its theme, the song’s upbeat groove makes you want to sway along.

The sound and vocals suggest that heartbreak isn’t only about sadness.

If you want to break free from sorrow, give it a listen!
