Funny Commercials [March 2025] (21–30)
Aiful “Beautiful Fighter” VersionMao Daichi, Hiroki Konno

In a scene at a combat sports event during the fighters’ entrances, the fighter pulls back their hood and—surprise—it turns out to be an okami-san (a traditional inn proprietress).
Their hairstyle and shadowboxing exude intensity, and their expression radiates strong confidence.
Delivered with that powerful presence is the familiar message, “Is there love in that?”—clearly emphasizing a commitment to spreading love.
While it makes sense if you think of them as a fighter promoting the importance of love, the fact that it’s an okami-san makes the whole thing comical.
Aiful ‘Conductor’ EditionMao Daichi, Hiroki Konno

In the fifth installment of the series, the proprietress appears as a train conductor.
On the train, Mr.
Konno is sitting and enjoying a mobile game, while an elderly person stands in front of him.
Unaware and absorbed in his game, Mr.
Konno is admonished by the proprietress-turned-conductor.
Although Mr.
Konno is shocked that she suddenly became a conductor, the commercial ends with a scene of him awkwardly giving up his seat.
JR East View Card “Gold Card” VersionHidekazu Majima, Anna Yamada

This commercial, which begins with the line “Adults need breathing room,” is JR East’s View Card commercial, the “Gold Card” version.
It promotes how the View Card Gold lets you earn lots of points when booking Green Car seats or Shinkansen tickets.
However, the man who declared “Adults need…” at the beginning ends up getting so carried away by the great deals that he bursts into triumphant laughter.
It’s a memorable ad with humor and a dynamic sense of pacing.
Uber Eats: “If you want to take it easy, isn’t Uber Eats the way to go? Squirrel” / “Even in allergy season, isn’t Uber Eats the way to go? Pollen”Riisa Naka, Akinori Nakao

These commercials depict extreme scenarios that show how you can enjoy meals without risking going outside by using Uber Eats.
In the “Squirrels” segment, diners are attacked by squirrels when eating out, and in the “Pollen” segment, a sneeze triggered by pollen sets off a chain of various troubles.
The contrast between these comically large mishaps and the safety of dining at home highlights the convenience of Uber Eats.
The bewildered expressions of Riisa Naka and Akiyoshi Nakao also help underscore the fun of the visuals.
AEON Card “Hero” version / “New Life” versionTakayuki Yamada, Ryusei Yokohama

This commercial features Takayuki Yamada and Ryusei Yokohama introducing how the AEON Card and AEON Pay app can be used in various situations.
In the “Hero” version, AEON Pay shoots a beam, and in the “New Life” version, the AEON Card is used as a curtain or a comforter—humorously depicting uses that would normally be impossible.
While such extreme uses are impractical, the ad showcases with a refreshing tone that all the other features are genuinely useful.
GSK Consumer Healthcare Japan K.K. Contac 600 SRShofukutei Shohei

This is a Contac commercial featuring the memorable original character Mr.
CONTAC, who speaks in Kansai dialect.
Mr.
CONTAC was voiced by Shohei Shofukutei, and many people loved the approachable vibe and humor he brought to the role.
When Shohei Shofukutei passed away, a memorial commercial was aired, underscoring how this was one of the commercials that represented his career.
ST Shoshuryoku “Princess Kaguya” Edition

Speaking of Deoshushryoku commercials, many people probably remember the one where Miguel shows off his powerful singing voice, but the “Kaguya-hime” version—where a foreign woman shouts, “So smelly!”—likely stuck in your memory too, right? And the celestial being’s single line, “Use it,” as they hand over Deoshushryoku also made quite an impact, didn’t it?
