[Childcare] Halloween Games! Simple and Fun Ideas [Part 2] (1–10)
Pick pumpkins and collect ribbons!
Hang pumpkin zip bags under a low table to create a game you can enjoy with the feel of fruit picking! Put cute ribbons inside the zip bags.
If you prepare a few different colors, you can have fun chatting—“What color will it be this time?”—as you play.
Using a low table also turns it into a crawl-under activity, adding an extra sense of excitement.
Be sure to adjust the ribbons’ shapes and sizes so they’re safe for children to touch.
Let’s cooperate! Matching game
The picture-matching game involves aligning the images drawn on the surfaces of four cube-shaped boxes to complete a single illustration.
Since you need to change the orientation and positions of the boxes, if you prepare large boxes, children can move their bodies and have fun.
If you make the completed illustrations Halloween-themed—like jack-o’-lanterns, witches, or Dracula—it will help build the Halloween mood.
You can also adjust the difficulty, for example by increasing the number of boxes from four to six.
Target Shooting Game: Halloween Version
This is a Halloween version of a well-known target game for preschool settings.
With ideas kids are sure to love—like a “Stretchy Mummy Stick” made from a straw and origami paper, a “Bat Shooter” made from a milk carton and rubber bands, and a “Monster Air Cannon” made from a plastic bottle and a balloon.
The instructions for each are simple, so why not let the children choose one and make it together? If you’re making targets, prepare some construction paper.
Place the target on top of a paper cup filled with candy, and if they manage to knock the target down, they get the candy— guaranteed to get everyone excited!

Picture search game
This is a game where you search for Halloween-themed illustrations hidden under murky black water.
It helps to present the methods in advance—such as the version where you press down plastic wrap with your finger or the one where you blow through a straw—since they’re easy to understand.
You can also adjust the difficulty based on the overall size and the number of illustrations, so it’s recommended to start with smaller setups with fewer items and gradually make it harder.
The darkness of the water also affects the difficulty, so focusing on that aspect could be interesting as well.
egg hunting

Egg picking and egg hunts are usually games played at Easter, but they can be used for Halloween too.
Scatter lots of egg-shaped capsules around a room or yard and compete to see who can collect the most.
If you put small gifts or candy inside the capsules, it really boosts the Halloween mood.
It’s also fun to search for them with friends.
Halloween Phonics Sugoroku

Everyone, do you know what phonics is? It’s one method that establishes rules between English spelling and pronunciation, making it easier to learn the correct way to read.
This is a phonics board game for a Halloween party.
Playing this game helps with English pronunciation and makes it easy to understand how phonics works—it’s really excellent!
Halloween Origami

When you host a Halloween party at home, you’ll usually do the decorating yourselves, right? In that case, try making decorations out of origami together with the kids! This video shows how to make a classic origami pumpkin, but there are many other kinds too, so be sure to look them up!
