Fun Halloween Origami for 3-Year-Olds
Many places likely incorporate origami into their Halloween crafts.
Origami is easy to include, but the difficulty can vary depending on the folding method.
In this article, we’ll introduce Halloween origami ideas for three-year-olds.
While jack-o’-lanterns and pumpkins are classic Halloween motifs, we also show how to fold other Halloween-themed items like ghosts, bats, and black cats.
You can fold various pieces, combine them for decorations, and enjoy them as wreaths or wall displays.

Halloween origami wreath
You often see wreaths around Christmastime.
It’s also a great idea to decorate with a Halloween-themed version of one.
You can even make it using only origami, so it’s perfect if you want the children to take the lead in a craft activity.
Another feature of this Halloween wreath is how easy it is to add originality.
Try placing a ghost in the center of the wreath, or a black cat—come up with whatever designs you like.
There are many folding instructions available online, so it’s a good idea to look those up as well.
Monster Balloon

How about making monster origami balloons that are perfect for Halloween? The folding method is the same for all of them—just change the color of the paper depending on the character or motif, and add ears, eyes, and other features.
Frankenstein, a mummy, a jack-o’-lantern, a skeleton…
These monsters might seem a little scary normally, but as round, chubby balloon monsters, they’re all adorable and will surely make you want to create lots of them.
Another great point is that you can play with them or use them as decorations after you make them.
Simple Pumpkin Bag

Many children look forward to Halloween, when they carry a bucket and collect candy while shouting “Trick or treat!” How about making a small pumpkin bag using origami? Use orange origami paper to fold the bag and the pumpkin part, then cut strips of paper in a different color, fold them a few times, and tape them from the inside with cellophane tape to make the handle.
For the pumpkin’s face, you can draw it with a marker or stick on pieces of black origami paper.

witch

Witches are an essential Halloween motif, too.
When we think of witches, many of us picture scary figures from fairy tales, but the witch you make with this origami is cute and not scary at all.
At first glance, you might think it’s a bit hard for a three-year-old, but it’s fine if you fold it slowly and carefully.
Fold it so that the white side on the back becomes the face and hair.
The witch’s cape and pointy hat will be the color of the origami paper, so try using witch-like colors such as black or purple.
pumpkin

Let’s make a pumpkin, the symbol of Halloween, out of origami and use it as decoration for a Halloween party! After folding the paper in half vertically twice, open both sides from the inside so it forms a triangle.
Fold the edges inward to shape it, and make the stem—then it’s done! After that, draw a face with a pen, or create a face using parts cut from other origami paper.
Make lots of them and decorate different places on the day of your Halloween party.
Halloween hat

Try making a classic Halloween cosplay item: a witch’s hat.
First, fold the paper into a triangle and open it up.
Then fold two sides to align with the crease you just made, and open it again.
Using those three creases as guides, form an isosceles triangle.
Roll up the base edge tightly as you fold, and the hat is complete! The rolled part looks just like the brim of the hat.
Stick it onto a jack-o’-lantern face you made separately to boost the Halloween vibe! To make it lively, use a variety of colored papers.
coffin

We’d like to introduce a Halloween origami craft that parents and kids can enjoy together: a “coffin.” Even something with a dark image like a coffin turns pop and cute when made with origami! It’s very simple, so even small children should be able to make it.
For the coffin’s cross, cut red or gold origami paper to create a bold, eye-catching accent.
There are also instructions for making an easy ghost to go with it, so why not add them to your Halloween decorations? This is perfect for preschool or kindergarten activities during the Halloween season, as well as for crafting at home.
