Classic and popular songs by Akai Koen
A four-piece rock band, Akai Ko-en.
They’re known for their distinctive songwriting sensibilities.
Their songs seem to emerge from a composition process where guitarist Tsuno brings in demos infused with elements of classical and contemporary music, which the other members then distill into a pop-leaning rock sound.
Let yourself be swept away by their music, guided by their credo of staying free.

Akai Koen’s classic and popular songs (51–60)
person of moistureakai kouen
It’s a track included on the mini-album “Toumei na no ka Kuro na no ka” (“Is It Transparent or Is It Black?”).
In the quiet intro, you can hear sounds like being underwater.
With a structure characteristic of Akai Ko-en, including irregular time signatures, its appeal lies in the swift shifts in sound that feel like the scenery changes in an instant.
Someone said thatakai kouen
A track included on their second album, “Mouretsu Rhythmique.” Its melody has a vaguely nostalgic feel, and combined with the shuffle beat, just listening to it brings back childhood memories and lifts my spirits.
It’s a song I want to listen to when I’m feeling down.
luxuryakai kouen
It’s the ninth track on the 2013 album “Park Debut.” It’s a piano-led pop song that features a recorder in the latter half.
While the tune is breezy and even a bit cute, it’s tinged with a touch of poignancy.
TOKYO HARBORakai kouen

This is a track included on the full album “Mouretsu Rhythmic,” released on September 24, 2014.
In collaboration with the rapper KREVA, the song uses slightly vintage phrasing that creates a pleasantly off-kilter feel.

Sheep Shopakai kouen

This is “Hitsuji-ya-san,” made for Karaoke DAM’s “Ima Dake Clip.” It’s a song characterized by a peculiar melody.
Many of you are probably wondering, “What on earth is a hitsuji-ya-san?” but since the lyrics say “put me to sleep,” you can just barely make sense of it.
It also feels like the song skillfully expresses the unpleasant sensations you get when you’re sleepy after pulling an all-nighter.
night after nightakai kouen

This is a track included on the 2012 album “Innocence in the Laundry.” I find the beat in the chorus—where the sense of speed suddenly stops—very interesting.
By the way, the sound of the Caribbean instrument, the steelpan, appears in the intro.
Number Sixakai kouen

This is a track included on the 2012 album “Laundry de Ketsubaku” (Innocence in the Laundry).
At first it might seem like an easy-to-listen pop melody, but there’s an unstable, peculiar atmosphere drifting through it that conveys the band’s distinctive musicality.
