A four-piece rock band, Akai Ko-en.
They’re known for their distinctive songwriting sensibilities.
Their songs seem to emerge from a composition process where guitarist Tsuno brings in demos infused with elements of classical and contemporary music, which the other members then distill into a pop-leaning rock sound.
Let yourself be swept away by their music, guided by their credo of staying free.

Akai Koen’s classic and popular songs (1–10)
NOW ON AIRakai kouen

Released in 2014, included on their second major full-length album, “Mouretsu Rhythmic.” It’s a very meaningful and important song for the band, serving as their lead track.
Created with the desire to “make a truly great song,” it turned out to be very poppy, bright, and full of a sense of openness.
KOIKIakai kouen

It’s a single released in 2015.
The song features a driving drum intro, understated A and B verses, and a slow, beautiful chorus, with transitions between melodies crafted to be especially pleasing to the ear.
The sharp, cool guitar work is another highlight.
Love and Liesakai kouen

This is a song included on the single “Koi to Uso,” released in 2017.
It’s a very cute song themed around the little lies we tell because we want to be seen as even a bit cuter.
It’s a wonderful track packed with heart-fluttering moments.
I definitely recommend listening to it when you’re in love.
Absolute relationshipakai kouen

This is their fourth single, released in 2014.
It’s also the theme song for the drama “Lost Days.” At first they come across as a stylish girls’ band, but the more you listen, the more you get drawn into their distinctive musicality.
Plus, the music video is brimming with the kind of deliberate charm only a girls’ band can pull off!
Platinumakai kouen

The songs of the four-piece rock band Akai Ko-en are born from a distinctive songwriting process: guitarist Yosaki Tsuuno creates demos that incorporate elements of classical and contemporary music, which the entire band then elevates into a catchy rock sound.
This track, included on their fourth album Netsushou Summer released in August 2017, was also used as the ending theme for the TBS information program Ousama no Brunch.
Its lyrics, linking words together like a shiritori game, are memorable, and the subtly budding feelings of love, depicted from a woman’s perspective, create a unique world.
Though the melody is tinged with sadness, the girl’s emotions are expressed adorably, making it a song you’ll want to listen to alone on a summer night.
a lantern in the dark (night)akai kouen

This is a track included on the single “Lantern in the Dark Night,” released in 2017.
The guitar progression in the intro is just incredibly cool and grabs you right from the start.
It’s uptempo and easy to listen to, with a subtly Japanese flavor that could easily become addictive.
Canvasakai kouen

It’s a spring song released in 2016.
Rather than being an endlessly cheerful track like the ones you often hear—“Cherry blossoms are so pretty! Love it!”—it captures the unique wistfulness you feel in spring.
The line “Spring will carry away even the days we spent together” really hits home.
