field of rapeseed flowers
A wall decoration themed around a field of rapeseed blossoms is a great idea for creating a bright, spring-like atmosphere.
Cut origami paper in half, fold it into small sections, and crease it.
Cut along the creases to form a square, then round the edges to shape the petals.
The key is to add a gentle curl to the petals.
Place the pieces you’ve made on top of a ball of crumpled origami paper.
For the stems, cut paper into rectangles, bend them into a bow shape, and give them a curve.
Make two types of leaves and add wrinkles to recreate a more realistic rapeseed field.
The gluing process also serves as fine motor exercise and is recommended for those who enjoy detailed work.
Sakura wreath

The recreational activity we’re introducing this time is a spring wall decoration and a cherry blossom wreath! You can find A4-size templates in the details section—please download and make use of them.
The steps are very simple.
What you’ll need: white or pink construction paper for the cherry blossom petals, yellow construction paper for the stamens, the templates, scissors, glue, a stapler, a ruler, etc.
Please check the required quantities.
The project can be completed in five main steps, so be sure to enjoy making it together!
Balloon cherry blossoms

Not only the sight of a cherry tree in bloom, but also the way the wind blows and petals dance in the air really makes you feel the arrival of spring.
This decoration captures that scene—hot-air balloons flying amid falling cherry blossoms—with an appealing sense of depth and festivity.
To form the balloon’s rounded part, cut paper into rectangles and assemble them in layers with slight offsets; by adjusting the angles of the layers, you create a three-dimensional bulge.
Attach cherry blossoms to this piece, add a basket underneath, scatter petals around, and it’s complete.
It’s also fun to choose balloon colors that match the cherry blossom hues and to plan other accents that help the balloon stand out.
rapeseed blossoms

When March comes, you can see rapeseed blossoms blooming in fields and along riverbanks.
They’re a familiar flower to many older adults and one that heralds spring, don’t you think? A rapeseed-blossom calendar could be a lovely way to bring news of spring to seniors.
There are many ways to make rapeseed flowers, but using origami or tissue paper is recommended.
Fold yellow origami paper to make the flowers, or cut tissue paper into rapeseed shapes and stick them onto the calendar.
The bright yellow rapeseed flower carries the meanings of energy and liveliness, inspired by its appearance.
Just displaying such a calendar could help seniors feel vibrant and full of life.

Tricolor Dango Squishy

Let’s use a slow-recovery sponge to make a soft-to-the-touch and cute-looking “three-color dango” squishy.
Dango are, of course, perfectly round.
Skillfully using scissors to round the sponge is one of the challenges this time; if you vary the blade angle and switch between the tip and the base of the blades as you cut, you’ll enjoy the process even more.
Once you’ve formed the dango, paint them with acrylics in cherry pink, white, and light green, and skewer them on a bamboo stick to complete your sponge three-color dango.
Cherry blossom lampshade

Let’s make a washi paper lampshade that softens the light and spreads a gentle glow.
This time we’ll use calligraphy paper.
Inflate a balloon to a suitable size to serve as the shade’s mold, then tear the calligraphy paper by hand and paste the pieces onto the balloon using glue thinned with water.
The way you tear the paper and how you overlap the layers will create a pleasant texture and degree of softness in the light.
Next, attach pink toilet paper cut into cherry blossom petal shapes to give it a springtime feel.
Once the paper is completely dry, deflate the balloon; if it comes cleanly away from the paper, your lampshade is finished.
In conclusion
We introduced some craft ideas you can enjoy in April. They’re all bright and inviting—perfect for getting into the spring spirit. I believe these crafts will let even those who can’t go out much feel the season of spring. I hope everyone enjoys them!
