Build decision-making skills through play! Here’s a ball battle game idea.

For children, decision-making is an essential skill in everyday life and learning.

By developing the ability to think things through and choose, and to act appropriately based on the situation, they grow more independent and learn to think and make decisions on their own.

This time, let’s nurture decision-making skills while playing a ball battle game.

Pair up in twos and face each other; place some colored balls between you and you’re ready to go! If you lose rock-paper-scissors, run away quickly; if you win, watch your opponent’s movements and throw a ball.

Give it a try!

Daikon-pulling game

@kidschallengeclub♬ Anyway, Busy – Various Artists & Ken Ito

A game that kids and adults can enjoy! Here are some ideas for the Daikon Pulling Game.

It’s a fun game that works well with both small and large groups! The rules are simple and easy to understand, so anyone—from children to adults—can join in.

Divide into the “daikon” role and the “puller” role, and give it a try.

It gets even more exciting with larger groups, but it’s still plenty of fun with fewer people, making it great for any group size.

Once everyone gets the hang of it, trying team matches and competing for time sounds like a lot of fun!

Anything Basket

Listen carefully, think carefully, and move! Here’s an idea for a “Anything Basket” game.

Are you familiar with Fruit Basket? In this game, participants are assigned the names of fruits like apple, banana, and orange.

The facilitator calls out, “○○ fruit!” and the children who have that fruit name quickly move to the seats designated for that fruit.

As a variation of Fruit Basket, let’s try “Anything Basket.” It’s a great way to develop good listening skills!

chimney game

Chimney Game! Ball Play (4- and 5-Year-Olds)
chimney game

Let’s do our best not to lose to the chimney sweeper! Here’s an idea for a chimney game.

This is a unique game that uses balls and mats.

If your center doesn’t have mats, connected cardboard pieces will also work.

A teacher, transformed into a chimney sweeper, goes inside the chimney.

The children try to toss balls into the chimney so they won’t lose to the sweeper.

They can build skills by making strategies and watching for moments when the teacher lets their guard down.

Give it a try! If you have a large group, a key tip is to prepare more balls than the number of participants.

Nursery School Exploration!

What kind of teachers are in which rooms? Here are some ideas for a preschool exploration! It’s sure to excite not only children who are new or transferring, but also those who are already familiar with the preschool.

With fluttering hearts, let’s explore the preschool together with friends and teachers while wondering, “What do we do in this room?” and “Is it okay to go in?” It can also be a great opportunity to learn rules, such as the promises to keep in rooms with tiny babies or in rooms with a kitchen.
