Formed in Sapporo, Hokkaido, the four-piece band Miami Party is an expressive group rooted in J-pop and rock, incorporating unique elements of poetry reading and rap.

They made their debut in August 2017 with the EP “Until Morning Comes,” selling 1,000 copies in just two months.

Since then, they have actively performed live and released new music; in May 2020, their second EP “p.q.b.d” reached No.

2 on Tower Records’ weekly indie chart.

Their media recognition has grown as well, including being selected as a featured track on Nippon Broadcasting System’s “All Night Nippon.” In 2023, one of their songs was chosen as the ending theme for TV Asahi’s “Choco Planner.” The band’s powerful instrumental sound and Takayoshi Sakurai’s emotive vocals continue to captivate listeners seeking music that resonates deeply.

Hitomitoi, a singer-songwriter from Sapporo, Hokkaido, creates urban pop that fuses a wide range of genres including soul, jazz, and funk.

After debuting with an indie single in 2002, she made her major-label debut in 2004 with the album Fermata.

Produced by Hirohisa Horie of NEIL&IRAIZA, she has also collaborated extensively with a new generation of creators in Japan and abroad.

Although she temporarily suspended her activities in 2008 due to vocal cord nodules and polyps, she returned in 2009.

Her singing voice has been described as “aphrodisiac-like.” She has received high praise from music magazines and is active across a broad spectrum, including music for commercials, narration, and providing backing vocals for Kenji Ozawa.

She’s a recommended artist for those drawn to an urban atmosphere and a distinctive vocal style.

The three-piece rock band Gekkou Green, based in Sapporo, Hokkaido, is drawing attention with their self-styled “sweat-drenched emotional rock.” Formed in 2003 under the name Kamikaze Green, they changed to their current band name in 2006.

With powerful vocals and tightly unified performances, they ignite the live stage with heat and energy.

In 2005, they won an Excellence Award at the Shimamura Music–hosted live event HOTLINE 2005, widely showcasing their abilities.

Since launching his career in the late 1980s, he has produced numerous hit songs.

He has created ending themes for many TV programs, including a work that reached No.

14 on the Oricon charts in the 1990s.

Establishing a unique musical identity in the J-pop scene, he has also flourished as a producer, providing songs for artists like EXILE and MAX.

In 2015, he released the album “Masterpiece?”, earning strong support not only from J-pop fans but also from listeners seeking authentic R&B and soul.

Mikimura Mieko, known as the enka songstress representing Hokkaido, made her debut as an enka singer in 1974 and soon released songs that became major hits.

From the late 1970s to the early 1980s, she left a significant mark on the enka world with her emotionally rich vocals and delicate expressiveness.

In 1979, she received the Long Seller Award at the 21st Japan Record Awards, and in 1981 she made her long-awaited first appearance on NHK’s Kōhaku Uta Gassen.

She excels in lyrics and melodies imbued with passion, and her distinctive style—preserving enka’s traditions while incorporating a contemporary sensibility—continues to captivate many fans.
