An artist from Uji City, Kyoto Prefecture.
Their lyrics are hilariously entertaining, yet the melodies are cool, and that contrast is irresistible.
They often collaborate with Yabai T-Shirts Yasan, who are also from Uji City, and are one of the artists energizing Kyoto’s music scene.
God of RomanceHirose Kōmi
Singer-songwriter Kohmi Hirose, known as the Queen of Winter and the creator of numerous winter songs, is also from Wakayama Prefecture.
She has produced many songs for Alpen commercials, such as “GELENDE ga Tokeru Hodo Koi Shitai” and “DEAR…again,” and her tracks are often played on the slopes themselves.
She’s a captivating singer with a wide expressive range—from delicate, gentle vocals to powerful, soaring belts.
Horse of YouthMatsuda Konoka
Konoka Matsuda, a member of the idol group Hinatazaka46, is from Kyoto Prefecture.
She is also active as an actress, having experienced her first stage performance within the group.
Among members and fans, she is affectionately called “Konoka-chan.” Konoka has an older sister named Arisa Matsuda, who was once selected as Miss Campus Ritsumeikan, and the two are known as a beautiful sister duo from Kyoto.
ReluctantlyTakenaka Yuu, negi
Novelbright has been gaining popularity, especially among teenagers, by incorporating catchy melody lines into guitar rock.
Vocalist Yudai Takenaka and drummer Negi are both from Hyogo Prefecture.
Takenaka is the person who set Novelbright in motion, and based on the early versions of songs by guitarist Kaito Yamada, he appears to handle arranging the melodies and lyrics through to completion.

Thelma Aoyama’s popularity skyrocketed after SoulJa’s 2007 track “Koko ni Iru yo feat.
Thelma Aoyama,” and her signature 2008 release “Soba ni Iru ne” was a massive hit, holding the record for most ringtone downloads.
In recent years, she’s also been appearing frequently on variety shows! It might not be widely known, but she lived in Nara Prefecture until sixth grade, before moving to the United States.
Her beautiful, mature-sounding voice is truly captivating!
Over DriveTAKUYA
Since their 1993 debut, JUDY AND MARY have produced numerous hit songs, and their guitarist TAKUYA is an artist from Kyoto Prefecture.
He is currently pursuing a solo career, working under both his own name, TAKUYA, and the name ROBOTS.
During the band era, the songs composed by TAKUYA—such as “KYOTO,” “Irotoridori no Sekai,” and “HOTARU”—incorporated keywords evocative of Kyoto and featured emotionally expressive melodic developments.
Somei Yoshino (Yoshino cherry)Dōmoto Tsuyoshi
Tsuyoshi Domoto of KinKi Kids is from Nara City and is one of the artists brimming with love for Nara.
After making his major debut in 1997 as a member of KinKi Kids, he launched his solo career under the name Tsuyoshi Domoto in 2002.
He has since pursued solo work under various monikers, including ENDLICHERI☆ENDLICHERI.
In 2008, he was appointed Special Tourism Ambassador for Nara City, and he has held solo concerts at Yakushiji and Todaiji temples in Nara.
In addition to writing and composing his own songs, he plays a variety of instruments, and his distinctive fashion is part of his appeal.
He is one of the exceptionally artistic talents within Johnny’s.
