The vocalist, Koyama, is from Uji City in Kyoto.
They’ve now become a hugely popular artist, appearing in commercials and festivals.
I think the secret to their popularity lies in their catchy musical style and lyrics that convey simple, universal messages anyone can relate to.
It’s MeFluffy

Fluffy is a singer-songwriter from Osaka Prefecture, born in 2005.
Her melodies are rooted in J-pop while drawing on folk and rock, with a touch of Western pop from the ’90s and 2000s.
She began her career during the last summer vacation of her final year of high school in 2023 and released her first tracks the same year.
She has been consistently putting out songs, including her signature tracks Playlist and I’m Not Your Baby.
Rather than major awards, she’s earning recognition through steady, on-the-ground activity—like serving as a semi-regular on a local Kansai FM radio program since November 2023.
Her flexible performance style—from solo acoustic to full band—and her fresh, vibrant vocals are wonderful.
She’s a great recommendation for anyone looking for new pop music!
Lionberii guddoman

BERRY GOODMAN is a three-member vocal group formed in Osaka Prefecture.
Their music, rooted in pop and infused with elements of R&B, hip-hop, and reggae, has earned support from a wide audience.
Formed in November 2013, they held a successful solo concert as early as May of the following year.
Their signature songs include “Lion,” known for its empowering messages that give listeners a push forward.
In November 2023, they drew 30,000 attendees at a live concert at Hanshin Koshien Stadium, and in the same year surpassed 100,000 subscribers on YouTube, earning the Silver Creator Award.
The harmonious blend of members Rover, MOCA, and HiDEX is pleasing to the ear, making them a recommended group for anyone looking for a boost of energy.

For those who listened to a lot of rock bands in the ’90s, when you hear “a band from Nara Prefecture,” you just can’t leave them out! Many people probably also remember their appearance on Ikaten.
For those born in the 2000s, many might think “Natsu Matsuri” is Whiteberry’s song, but it was originally performed by JITTERIN’JINN! Besides that track, they’re a legendary band that churned out numerous hits back then, like Present and Nichiyoubi (Sunday).

Yoru no Honki Dance is a band from Kyoto.
I’m sure many people have been captivated by their stylish sound.
In this music video, their sleek dance steps are another highlight you won’t want to miss.
It’s a band that makes you envy their music, style, and dancing alike.
That summer is becoming an addiction.kukkī! (Jenīhai)

Known as a genius comedian, Cookie! hails from Moriyama City in Shiga Prefecture.
The band in which he plays bass, Genie High, launched in 2017.
You may already know it’s a supergroup bringing together talents from different fields: Enon Kawatani, Ikkyu Nakajima, Takashi Niigaki, and Kazuhiro Kokubu.
Their 2018 mini-album “Genie High” topped the digital charts, proving their credentials.
Beyond comedy, he’s also demonstrated his versatility by successfully mounting an art exhibition that drew over 550,000 visitors.
In the band, his bass lines—praised for being “thick and singing”—are a major draw!
Bands, artists, and singers from the Kansai region (21–30)
《A》BEGINNINGmotozawa seiya, sano masaya

The Kansai-proud male idol group “Aぇ! group” includes Seiya Sue Suezawa and Masaya Sano, both from Hyogo Prefecture.
The oldest member, Suêzawa, boasts a wide range of dance skills from tap to contemporary, while the youngest, Sano, contributes to songwriting and composition thanks to the skills he honed at a music university.
They made their CD debut with Universal Music in 2024, and their debut single topped the Oricon chart.
They have steadily built achievements, such as winning the Emotional category at the anan AWARD 2023 and receiving the New Artist of the Year at the 39th Japan Gold Disc Awards in 2025.
A standout episode that symbolizes their youthful drive and passion is how Sano used the prize money he won on the 2022 “100-Point Karaoke Music Festival” to produce the group’s first music video.
You won’t want to take your eyes off their efforts to deliver Kansai-born entertainment nationwide.
