Chiaki Oka, a composer and singer known as a leading figure in the enka and kayōkyoku world, hails from Bizen City in Okayama Prefecture.

He set his sights on a singing career after graduating from junior high school, worked his way up through various apprenticeships, and debuted as a composer in 1970.

He has produced numerous hits that have colored the history of popular song, including Hiroshi Itsuki’s “Nagaragawa Enka” and “Naniwa Koi Shigure,” which he also performed as a duet with Harumi Miyako.

“Nagaragawa Enka” won the Grand Prize at the 26th Japan Record Awards in 1984, among many other accolades.

His distinctive “raspy voice” is one of his charms, and his mushroom-cut hairstyle and small mustache are also fondly recognized.

Hirona Seo is a female singer from Hayashima, Okayama Prefecture.

Known by the catchphrase “The Madonna of Light Enka,” she focuses her activities on enka and kayōkyoku.

Before turning professional, she won numerous prizes at karaoke competitions, and after becoming the champion at a contest in November 2010, she made her major debut in July 2013 with the single “Ajikoi-zake.” Released about one year and eight months after her debut, “Kawasemi” is a passionate song that she says she wants to make her signature number.

She warmly values connecting with fans—whom she calls “Hironakama”—and also serves as a goodwill ambassador for Ito Onsen, adding to her approachable charm.

He has an unusual background: while working as a long-haul truck driver, he was captivated by enka on the radio and, at age 30, became an apprentice to composer Minoru Endo.

Formed in 2019 by guitarist-vocalist Soma and bassist Taylor, they initially performed with support drummers.

In November 2024, during their self-organized circuit, Dr.

Midori officially joined, solidifying their three-piece lineup.

Their music is characterized by a distinctive blend of riff-driven rock and clean-tone chord work.

While they haven’t received formal awards, they’ve been gaining recognition through local shows in Okayama and performed at an outdoor festival in March 2025.

They’ve also been active in releases, dropping the single “Manmanzai” for streaming in June 2024.

Their layered, powerful sound is sure to impress rock fans.
