Singer-songwriter Chisato, originally from Okayama Prefecture, launched her full-scale music career in 2010 after winning the New Artist Award at the All-Japan Karaoke Grand Prix in 2009.

She has served as an opening act and collaborator for R&B artists such as BENI and, after continuing locally rooted activities like in-store events, expanded her reach nationwide with the release of her third mini-album in 2016.

In addition to performing with a wide range of artists, including KREVA and Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, Chisato also works as a radio personality.

Her R&B tracks showcase a compelling sense of groove, while her ballads and pop songs resonate with a warm vocal tone that reflects her gentle character and convictions.

Koshi Inaba, the vocalist of B’z—one of Japan’s leading rock units—was born in Tsuyama, Okayama Prefecture.

In 1985, he entered the Being vocal school and pursued activities such as singing and doing chorus work as part-time gigs.

Later, after guitarist Tak Matsumoto, who had been striving to form a band, heard Inaba’s demo tape, B’z was formed.

They made their major debut in 1988 with the simultaneous release of the single “Dakara Sono Te wo Hanashite” and the album “B’z.” Beyond his work with B’z, Inaba also launched a solo career, releasing the album “Magma” in 1997 and collaborating with Slash, the guitarist of Guns N’ Roses.

His distinctive, high–toned voice continues to shine, resonating undimmed by the passage of years.

Iga Nana, a singer-songwriter and creator, hails from Okayama Prefecture.

She has a rich international background, having grown up in Belgium and Germany and having been familiar with classical piano since childhood.

While her music is rooted in J-POP and R&B/Soul, it shines with an alternative sensibility that defies conventional genres.

She will release her debut single, “Zone Out,” in August 2025.

Singer-songwriter Fujii Kaze hails from Satosho, Asakuchi District, Okayama Prefecture.

Exposed to a wide range of music from an early age and encouraged by his father, he began uploading videos of his own piano cover performances to YouTube around the age of 12.

In 2019, he released his first officially recorded track, a song titled “Nan-Nan w.” The following year, in 2020, he became the first Japanese artist to be featured in the global “Artist On The Rise” campaign, which spotlights artists gaining popularity and buzz on YouTube.

He is known for his distinctive, unadorned lyrics and memorable titles.

Midsummer StraightKoumoto Hiroto

Hiroto Kōmoto, the legendary vocalist of THE BLUE HEARTS, ↑THE HIGH-LOWS↓, and The Cro-Magnons, is from Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture.

He formed THE BLUE HEARTS in 1985 with guitarist Masatoshi Mashima and others, making a major-label debut in 1987 with the single “Linda Linda.” After the band disbanded in 1995, he formed ↑THE HIGH-LOWS↓ at Mashima’s invitation and debuted the same year with the single “Missile Man” and the album THE HIGH-LOWS.

After that band disbanded in 2005, he also worked as a solo artist, but in 2006 he reunited with Mashima and others to form The Cro-Magnons, debuting with the single “Tally-Ho.” His raw, instinct-driven performances exude charisma and continue to captivate many fans.

Singer Yuki Katsuragi, known for her resonant husky voice, hails from Kawakami Town in Kawakami District, Okayama Prefecture, which is now Takahashi City.

In 1973, she won a vocal award at a Yamaha contest and made her debut the same year under the stage name Machi Asagiri.

In the 1980s, she scored major hits with covers, including Ocean of Sorrow, originally by Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler, and Bohemian, which was initially another singer’s song.

She also achieved great success with a concert held in Guangdong Province, China.

Since then, she has pursued a wide range of activities, such as singing PR songs for her home prefecture of Okayama, performing the national anthem at the Japan Open Tennis Championships, and appearing on variety shows.

NI-KI, the main dancer of the globally popular K-pop group ENHYPEN, hails from Okayama Prefecture.

Known for his exceptional dance talent since childhood, some may recognize him from his experience as a kid dancer for SHINee.

In 2020, after competing on an audition program, he made a spectacular debut with the mini-album “Border: Day One.” The group has garnered numerous awards, including the Rookie of the Year at the Mnet Asian Music Awards.
