Soprano singer Yukari Miyake, a pioneer known as the “songstress of the Self-Defense Forces,” hails from Kurashiki City in Okayama Prefecture.

Some of you may have learned about her from a TV feature.

She studied vocal music at Nihon University College of Art and joined the Maritime Self-Defense Force in 2009.

Hired as the JSDF’s first vocalist, her extraordinarily beautiful voice spread from Niconico and became a hot topic in various media.

She made her major debut in 2013 with the album “Inori—Songs for the Future.” Her singing, both gentle and dignified, resonates directly across genres.

Beyond music, she holds a third-degree black belt in karate and has served as an Okayama Hareno Kuni Ambassador since 2016.
