School HeavenFingā 5

Finger 5 – Gakuen Tengoku –
School HeavenFingā 5

A song released in 1974 as the third single by a five-member group from Okinawa Prefecture.

It’s an upbeat, disco-style track that has been covered by Kyoko Koizumi, Shingo Mama, and Dream5.

Because the theme is school and the song is easy to get into, it’s used as a cheer song for high school baseball.

SHOW TIMEShonan no Kaze

In recent years, “SHOW TIME” has been rising in popularity as a high school baseball cheer song.

It’s a reggae track by Shonan no Kaze with fiery lyrics and a great performance.

High school baseball fans are probably very familiar with it! The upbeat groove and heartfelt words really fire you up.

The original is undeniably cool, but the brass band version for cheering is also incredibly hype! The last line of the chorus is perfect for batting, and when you hear it in a come-from-behind at-bat or a clutch moment, it feels like it could actually make it happen.

Theme of the Unruly ShogunKikuchi Shunsuke

The theme song also known as the walk-up music for Chunichi Dragons player Takaya Ishikawa is “The Bold Shogun Theme.” It was composed by Shunsuke Kikuchi as the theme for the period drama “The Bold Shogun” (Abarenbō Shōgun).

Thanks in part to the memorable opening scene where this music plays, it conveys a sense of impact and power.

By the way, there are several versions of this piece, arranged to match the storylines in the show.

If you’re curious, try looking into it—comparing it with the Special Final Episode version might make the differences easier to hear.

Dynamic RyukyuIkuma Akira

A track by Akira Ikuma included on the 2015 release Spirit of Carnival.

It drew attention after Sendai Ikuei High School used it as a cheer song at the summer Koshien baseball tournament.

From the title alone, you can already feel the power it gives.

It has become a staple for Okinawan taiko performances and modernized kumiodori, with a beautifully flowing melody, danceable rhythm, and a majestic sound that feels fresh and brings you back to a beginner’s mindset.

Its distinctly Japanese atmosphere and dynamic energy are truly uplifting!

Shikao Suga, who has produced numerous classic songs, wrote “Kiseki” as the theme song for the 2015 National High School Baseball Championship broadcast.

It’s an upbeat support song themed around the miracles that happen on the Koshien mound.

However, with its mid-tempo sound reminiscent of Eurobeat, it also gives a relaxed impression while remaining passionate.

It’s perfect for cooling down after the excitement.

Incidentally, the single also includes the ending theme, “Natsukage.”

SunriseKEYTALK

KEYTALK, a danceable rock band, had their song “Sunrise” chosen as a tie-in track for the game Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball.

Member Yagi also has experience playing baseball, so I think the band has a strong connection to the sport.

It’s a track that gives you energy with its positive lyrics about charging ahead and its exhilarating, high-speed sound! By the way, member Shuto has also heaped praise on “Kassē! Pawapuro,” which is featured in this article.

Since it was released in 2020, it seems likely to grow in popularity as a cheer song from here on out!

This is a celebrated song by SMAP that extols tireless effort and an indomitable spirit, chosen as the entrance march for the 67th National High School Baseball Invitational Tournament.

Its bright, forward-looking message blends perfectly with a distinctive, groove-filled rhythm.

Immediately after its release in September 1994, it topped the Oricon Weekly Singles Chart and was also used as the opening theme for “Naruhodo! The World.” The song became a major hit, selling over 720,000 copies.

It’s a track that gives courage and hope in the face of adversity—one that powerfully pushes you forward.
