glove

This project is about deliberately making an essential piece of baseball gear—a glove—out of cardboard.

Although it’s made from cardboard, the construction method is based on real gloves: you punch holes in the small parts and assemble them by lacing them together.

Refer to how an actual glove is composed of different pieces, and carefully adjust the size.

To highlight the surprising, woven-laced construction, it’s recommended to use laces in a color different from the cardboard.

Cardboard 3D craft

Elementary school art project ideas: hands-on 3D creations using single-face corrugated cardboard
Cardboard 3D craft

Three-dimensional creations using single-faced corrugated cardboard make the most of the material’s qualities depending on the direction and shape of your cuts.

If you cut along the direction of the flutes, the cardboard bends easily; by changing the cutting direction, you can form pillar-like shapes.

Cut long strips and coil them or make rods to combine into towers, arches, or animal bodies—shape them freely.

Connecting multiple parts in three dimensions results in sturdy works.

Painting the surface or adding patterns enhances the finish.

Sculptures born from everyday materials convey the depth of making and the freedom of imagination.

Cardboard guitar that makes sound

Let's Make a Sound-Making Guitar! [Cardboard Craft]
Cardboard guitar that makes sound

Let’s introduce a fun-to-make cardboard guitar.

Prepare one cardboard box, five rubber bands, a food tray, packing tape, glue, scissors, and a cutting mat, then let’s get started.

Draw a rough outline of a guitar on the opened cardboard and cut out each part along the lines.

Make slits along the long side of the food tray; the depth of the slits will change the sound it produces.

Thread the rubber bands through the slit area.

Attach the food tray to the hole in the guitar body part using packing tape.

Glue the neck and head together.

Then glue the neck and head onto the guitar body to complete it.

Paint it and add decorations to finish your own original guitar!

Easy with cardboard! Handmade puzzle

Puzzles made from cardboard can be created using scrap materials, so they cost nothing and are fun from the crafting stage onward.

Except for the illustration part, you can make everything—from the puzzle pieces to the frame—out of cardboard, so it’s easy to create a new one whenever you get bored.

Both the crafting process and the puzzle itself help with learning and brain training, making them perfect not only for children but also for older adults.

Plus, it teaches the idea that toys can be made from everyday materials, so give it a try!
