Popular Characters (11–20)
A slightly more detailed way to fold cheeseNEW!

A dog named Meiken Cheese who lives in a bread factory.
You can make this origami idea with a single sheet, but since there’s one place where you need to make a cut, please prepare scissors.
First, fold the left and right edges of the origami to meet at the center to make a rectangle.
From there, create multiple horizontal crease lines and make two valley-mountain step folds to divide the paper into three sections: ears (top), the upper head, and the lower head.
The top section will be the ears, so make a cut at the center and split it into left and right.
While folding the left and right edges of the ears inward, squash the four lower corners into triangles.
Then, overlap the folded edges and tilt them diagonally to complete Meiken Cheese’s distinctive ears.
For the middle section, follow the same steps to form the outline, but fold the edges so they flare outward from the step line.
Finally, fold the lower left and right bottom corners of the bottom section into triangles, and you’re done!
Snoopy

Snoopy, the soothing character loved not only by little kids but also by upper elementary, middle, and high school students.
With just white origami paper and a black pen, you can make one easily.
First, fold the origami in half into a square.
With the folded (closed) edge at the top, fold in the top-right corner to make an ear.
Tuck the tip inside and adjust as needed.
Next, fold the upper and lower left edges diagonally to shape the face.
Create a bit of volume in the center of the face, then round it by folding in all the corners.
Color the ear black, draw the nose and eyes, and your cute Snoopy is complete!
How to fold Captain PikachuNEW!

Captain Pikachu, the captain of the Rising Volt Tacklers, can amazingly be made from a single sheet of origami—hat included! Prepare a yellow sheet of origami paper.
First, fold it into a triangle twice, then open it once.
From the large corner, fold halfway toward the parallel edge to make a crease.
Fold from the long edge to that crease, then fold again to the new crease.
Fold both ends toward the center, then fold down slightly at an angle to form the ears.
Turn it over and make the hat in the area between the ears.
Cut a slit between the hat and the face, and trim the corners of each to finish.
Don’t forget to draw Captain Pikachu’s gallant face and the hat’s pattern!
Cinnamoroll

Using white origami paper, here’s Cinnamoroll, a Sanrio character you can make with a very simple folding method.
First, fold the paper into a triangle.
Next, fold it into a triangle again and open it up.
Fold the left and right corners diagonally downward to form the ears.
Open up the inside of each ear and squash-fold them, adjusting the corners.
Fold the lower part of the face to the back, then make small cuts with scissors to refine the face shape—now the form is complete.
Finally, draw the face with a pen; the key points are the translucent-looking blue eyes and the rosy red cheeks.
Enjoy making it together with your child like a fun drawing activity.
Baikinman

A popular anime character! Here’s an idea featuring Baikinman.
While some might think of Baikinman as a villain, his persistence in challenging battles without giving up can be inspiring.
How about making this brave Baikinman with origami? You’ll need black origami paper, paper cut into horn shapes, purple origami paper, a black pen, and white round stickers or paper cut into circles.
Give it a try!
Easy! How to fold AnpanmanNEW!

Let’s make Anpanman, a character hugely popular with children, using origami.
Fold the paper in half to make a crease.
Open it up, bring the bottom-right corner to the center line and fold it diagonally, then rotate counterclockwise and position the corners to shape the face.
While checking the overall face size, fold the corners to round it out and keep the balance.
Once you glue on the parts—the nose, cheeks, and mouth—your Anpanman is complete.
You can easily make Anpanman with a single sheet of origami, so try making it together with your child and have fun!
Yoshi

These days, a lot of people find comfort in video games.
The character I’m introducing this time is Yoshi from Nintendo’s Super Mario Kart.
He’s a green dinosaur whose full name is reportedly T.
Yoshisaur Munchakoopas.
This adorable character is a pacifist and plays a big role as Mario’s partner in the games! We’re going to make Yoshi with origami.
When you start folding, it’s important to set the width properly and follow the steps in order.
Yoshi’s face is intricate, so you’ll need some detailed handiwork.
Try making a cool-looking Yoshi!
Easy with a single card! Pikachu & EeveeNEW!

Pikachu, a figure that could be called the very symbol of Pokémon! Get some yellow origami paper and let’s fold it.
First, fold it in half vertically to make a crease and open it, then fold both sides in toward that crease.
Next, fold it in half from the other direction to make a crease and open it, then fold only one side in toward that crease and open it again.
Using the creases you’ve made, form a boat-like shape.
On the side where you didn’t make the boat, fold a small section upward, and round off the outline’s corners to finish.
If you switch the origami color to a brown tone, it can become Eevee, too! Flip it to the front and use a pen or round stickers to draw Pikachu’s and Eevee’s faces.
Easy! How to fold PiNEW!

Pii, the pre-evolved form of Clefairy, is known for its star-like silhouette.
Start by folding a pink sheet of origami paper into a triangle to make a crease, then fold both corners toward that crease.
Fold the paper in half from the opposite direction, and from the corners of the straight edge, fold each side past the center just a little.
Fold back a small part of the folded sections to make the ears.
Slightly fold up the side opposite the ears, turn it over to the front, and fold back the two ends and the top a little.
Flip it over again, make small cuts in the slightly folded section opposite the ears to form the legs.
Turn it back to the front, draw Pii’s face, and you’re done.
You’ll end up with a cute, pink, star-like shape!
Charizard That Moves Its Mouth!NEW!

Charizard, the final evolution of the first-generation starter Charmander, who was a major star under Ash in the anime.
Let’s fold a Charizard face you can chomp open and close after finishing.
Prepare two sheets of orange origami paper of the same size: use one for Charizard’s mouth and the other for the face above the mouth.
When making the upper part of the face, be sure to draw Charizard’s facial features partway through the process.
Use a stapler to fasten each part.
Shape it as you go to give it a three-dimensional finish.
Once it’s done, hold both corners of the mouth and move them to make the mouth open and close with a chomp!
