Tōru Amuro

Toru Amuro, whose real name is Rei Furuya. While infiltrating the Black Organization as a Public Security Police officer, he also operates as the private detective “Toru Amuro.” Within the Black Organization, he is undercover under the codename “Bourbon.” Because he has three different faces, he is one of the most important characters in the story.

APTX 4869

The poison that shrank Shinichi Kudo’s body and led him to live as Conan Edogawa is called APTX 4869. The drug’s developer is Shiho Miyano, also known as Sherry, who attends the same elementary school as Conan under the name Ai Haibara. Besides Shinichi Kudo and Shiho Miyano, there are others who have taken this poison.

Singing

Incidentally, the high school that Shinichi Kudo and Ran Mouri attend is Teitan High School. In both cases, the names are an anagram of the Japanese word for “detective” (tantei).

Cafe Poirot

The café located below the Mouri Detective Agency is called Café Poirot. The name “Poirot” was chosen by the owner, who loves mysteries, after Hercule Poirot from Agatha Christie’s detective novels. The staff working there include Azusa Enomoto and Toru Amuro.

grilled eel over rice (unajū)

Genta Kojima’s favorite food is unajū (grilled eel over rice). He’s extremely possessive about food, and scenes often show his eyes light up whenever he sees unajū. He can even sniff out the smell of unajū and sometimes converts expensive things into their equivalent in unajū—he’s a boy overflowing with love for unajū.
