Nichirin Sword

The swords used by the Demon Slayer Corps are called Nichirin Blades. These swords, the only weapons capable of killing demons, are forged in the Swordsmith Village. It’s said that when a swordsman with natural talent wields one, the blade changes color. Incidentally, the Nichirin Blades carried by the Hashira are engraved with four characters that express their creed: “Annihilate Evil Demons.”

The crows that serve as messengers for the Demon Slayer Corps are written as “鎹鴉” and read “Kasugaigarasu.” They play a crucial role in delivering various communications to Corps members and are indispensable in the story. Incidentally, Zenitsu Agatsuma doesn’t have a crow; a sparrow fulfills the role of a Kasugaigarasu for him.

What Nezuko holds in her mouth is a bamboo gag. It was put on her to prevent her, after turning into a demon, from harming humans. However, after she overcomes the sun at the end of the Swordsmith Village Arc, the bamboo is removed.

Demon Slayer Corps

The unofficial, government-independent organization formed to eradicate demons is called the Demon Slayer Corps. Among them, the members known as the Hashira are the strongest individuals in the Corps. Incidentally, there are nine Hashira at the beginning of the story, said to be because the kanji for “hashira” (柱) is composed of nine strokes.
