Christmas crafts for 2-year-olds! A collection of fun ideas using stamps and handprints

The season for Christmas crafts to enjoy with two-year-olds has arrived! Using their little hands, they can paste with glue, stamp with paint, and stick on stickers…

While valuing the children’s “I want to try!” spirit, we’ve gathered ideas here that will let them have fun creating.

From snowflakes and wreaths to Santa Claus and Christmas trees, you’re sure to see works where each child’s individuality shines.

Try making cute pieces together with the children to brighten up your classroom! Because what the children make is treated as artwork, we use the term “seisaku” (production/creation) in the text.

A mask that lets you become Santa

Let’s make masks that turn kids into little Santas and have fun together.

You can even take a group photo.

First, leave the rim of a paper plate and cut out a wavy shape to create Santa’s beard.

Prepare a Santa hat from construction paper, then let the children decorate it with round stickers or finger stamps.

After that, just attach the hat to the paper plate! You can use it like a cutout face panel or add an elastic band.

It’ll be fun for the kids to wear the masks and pretend to be Santa.

Socks with a pudding cup stamp

Turn store-bought pudding cups into adorable stamps! First, prepare boot shapes out of construction paper.

If you have a few different colors, children can choose their favorites.

Next, use the rims of empty pudding cups or lactic acid drink containers to stamp onto the paper.

Let the children stamp as much as they like until they’re satisfied.

Once the paint dries, write each child’s name on a mini snowman made from construction paper and stick it onto the boot.

You’ll end up with creations that showcase each child’s individuality.

Christmas wreath with cardboard stamps

Let’s make a Christmas wreath using cardboard stamps.

You can create a cute, fluffy look for the wreath with stamping.

First, cut the cardboard to a suitable size and roll it into a coil.

Next, stamp along the outline of a circle you’ve drawn on construction paper.

Mixing green and light green looks beautiful.

Once the paint dries, glue the construction paper onto red backing paper and decorate the wreath with round stickers.

Finish by adding a big ribbon, and it’s complete! Creating this festive wreath will boost the Christmas spirit.

decorated cake

It would be fun to do an art activity with the kids while imagining a Christmas cake, wouldn’t it? For this craft, cut construction paper into the shape of a cake and decorate it as you like with holly leaves, strawberries, and more.

Once you’ve made the base of the cake, let the children take over and create the cake they want to eat using crayons and decorative pieces.

You’ll end up with delicious Christmas cakes that showcase the children’s free imagination! For preschoolers, it’s also recommended to include a step where they “slice” the cake.

You want your Christmas crafts to be a little more festive than usual, right? The project we’re introducing this time is a glamorous wreath with sequins inside the Christmas wreath.

Here’s how to make it: First, put your favorite sequins and beads into a clear plastic bag.

Next, use a sponge to apply paint to a paper doily.

Once the doily is dry, cut a window-like hole in the center, place the bag of sequins in the middle, and sandwich it between two doilies, sticking them together like a sandwich.

That’s it! The key point is how beautifully the sequins inside sparkle.

Paper Plate Santa

Paper Plate Santa

Here’s a rocking, wobbling Santa craft made with paper plates.

Prepare one full paper plate, another plate cut into quarters (use one quarter), and one sheet of red origami paper.

Fold the full paper plate firmly in half, then cut a circle from the red origami and glue it on as Santa’s outfit.

Glue the quarter paper plate on top, make a hat from the red origami, and draw the face—your Santa is done! You can also decorate with stickers to make it extra stylish.

It’s a really fun craft, so give it a try!

Snowman made with a toilet paper roll core and finger stamps

By using a toilet paper roll, you can make a snowman while having fun.

First, cut small slits into the end of the roll and flare them outward.

Dip it in white paint and stamp it onto construction paper.

Choose a paper color like navy or black so the white paint stands out.

Once you’ve stamped two circles for the snowman’s head and body, let the paint dry.

Next, prepare facial features, a hat, mittens, and other parts from construction paper and glue them on.

Finally, use fingertip stamping to add falling snow in the background, and your adorable snowman craft is complete!
