Easy Christmas Crafts to Enjoy with Kids! Make Them with Everyday Materials (81–90)
Christmas ornament

A pine cone made with soft felt fabric.
First, cut the felt into 1 cm-wide strips and snip notches, then trim both corners of each cut section.
For the top scales of the cone, take a square piece of felt, make cuts, and shape it into a rounded cross.
Use an egg-shaped Styrofoam ball as the core, and wrap the felt around it with a hot glue gun.
The trick is to work in a circular pattern, shifting slightly as you go.
Finally, attach a string to the top of the cone and cover it with the felt scales to finish.
Give this easy-to-make yet authentic Christmas ornament a try!
stained glass-style wall decoration

When you hear “stained glass,” you might think making it by hand is difficult, but you can actually create it easily with familiar materials! Let’s make a stained-glass-style wall decoration featuring a Christmas tree.
First, sketch the tree on clear cellophane with a thick black marker, and add stained-glass-like lines in the blank areas.
Next, color it with markers, place a piece of thick paper backed with crumpled aluminum foil behind it, wrap the foil around, fold in any excess, and secure it with tape—and you’re done! With adult support, even small children can try this, so give it a go.
stained-glass-style wreath

Having a stained-glass wreath instantly makes a room feel more festive, doesn’t it? Here’s a method I’d like to share for making a stained-glass-style wreath.
First, create the wreath base by cutting circles out of thick paper and layering them.
Next, prepare a plastic shrink sheet (or clear plastic) and draw any illustration you like.
Drawing a Christmas tree or Santa will give it a cute finish.
Then layer it over crumpled aluminum foil—and in no time, it’s done.
It surprisingly resembles real stained glass, so be sure to give it a try!
Flower ribbon

When it comes to the joys of Christmas, many kids would say presents.
Of course, getting a present is exciting on its own, but I think the right wrapping can multiply that excitement many times over.
That’s why I’d like to introduce flower ribbon making.
All you need is red tape and scissors, and you can give it a try right away! You can use it for other events, too, so be sure to master how to make it.
There are plenty of videos online that teach how to make flower ribbons, so start by checking out a tutorial.
Pop-up Christmas tree

A craft project that lets you enjoy a three-dimensional Christmas tree popping up.
Download the dedicated templates or use a kit you can buy at a 100-yen shop to make it.
Prepare a ruler, craft knife, glue, and other tools, and carefully cut each piece.
By scoring lines and folding, you’ll create a tree that stands out in relief.
If it’s difficult for your child to use a craft knife, have an adult help with the work.
It’s also a good idea to let children handle only the safe tasks, like illustrations and decorations.
