Nintendo Switch

The hugely popular Nintendo Switch is perfect for enjoying Christmas with friends and family.
Some games let up to four people play together with just one console as long as you have controllers.
You could set up a tournament, or make it a team match for first-time players.
If you prepare a small prize or a special treat for the winner, the kids will be thrilled!
Present Balance Game

Do you know the game Jenga? It’s a game where you pull out blocks or bricks one by one from a tall stack.
If the tower falls, you lose.
How about making and playing a reverse version of that—a “Present Balance Game”? Here’s how to make it: Fix a toilet paper roll to a paper plate, then fix another paper plate on top of it.
Repeat this 3 or 4 times to build a tower of paper plates.
Put the presents into small boxes, and place those boxes carefully on the paper plates to keep the balance.
If the tower falls, you lose.
It could also be a fun way to do a gift exchange using this game.
Illustration guessing game

If there are children or people who aren’t confident in drawing among the participants at your Christmas party, a “Guess the Drawing” game is a great option! All you need is paper and pens, so it’s nice that it doesn’t require much preparation.
If you’re playing with a large group, it can be hard to see and the pace can slow down without poster paper or a large sketchpad, so for five or more people, it’s better to have those items ready.
As a tip, instead of making the prompts too difficult, choose simple subjects that become tricky once you try to draw them—like a giraffe’s face or a gorilla.
Hand-push sumo

As the name suggests, “te-oshi sumo” is a type of sumo where you only push with your hands.
Two people stand facing each other and push using only their hands.
The first to lose their balance or step out of the designated area loses.
It’s a simple game, but it gets pretty intense when you try it, because the outcome depends not just on strength but on the strategy of how to disrupt your opponent’s balance.
Russian roulette

Speaking of livening up a party, I think Russian roulette is a must.
You prepare some food, put something like wasabi in just one of them, and whoever gets it loses.
I think it’s also fun to switch up the ingredients and enjoy different variations.
